I was a huge fan of the original. I was excited when I heard they were bringing it back. I watched it the first couple of weeks and I had to stop. I saw a sanitized, slower paced version of the show I loved. It’s like they cleaned it up for network. That show needs to be on cable (yeah I know there’s not much difference anymore but still) and it doesn’t have to be an hour. I don’t blame the host, Taylor Tomlinson is new to hosting AFAIK and I’m sure she’ll get her sea legs with enough reps. If it’s really overcome the early issues maybe I’ll give it another shot down the line.
Nah it's fine.

Good for her but the show is really bad. How are going to make a "talk show" into a game show? It's not what people want to see at 12:30 AM. I think the host got screwed. I wish her well.
I think it’s doing quite well. Personally it’s not always my cup of tea, but occasionally very funny (heavily depending on the panel guests of course).
Yeh, it's hit or miss but that format is so wrong for that time of night.
I love the show. I also loved @midnight. There are far too many regular talk shows and they're stale. Why would I wanna hear some A-listers talk about pranks on set when I can see Chris Redd and Ana Gasteyer and some of my favorite comedians be silly?
I think it's 100% scripted. Some of the deliveries are kind of stale and lame. Very little improv going on.
It's not scripted, they just get to do some of their answers ahead of the taping. There's plenty of banter depending on who's on the panel, the show's getting looser over time as well.
Sorry, the format kills me. Craig Ferguson changed the game and no one else has stepped up.
I've been enjoying it. Some rough episodes early on, but after a bit they found their footing.
After Craig Ferguson, I'm a bit spoiled now.
Here's a video of the show's host sort of addressing that criticism.
Based on watching the show and its earlier incarnation, I really don't see it as a talk show. It seems more like a series of comedy prompts.
I do appreciate her talent but even she says, she's really not involved in the making of the show other than the role she plays. She'd rather be doing stand up.
