Pride, season-ending high and learnings on Naman's mind

By Mumbai Indians

A whirlwind season of cricket, filled with moments of brilliance, angst, and outbursts of talent, will draw to a close with the hosting of Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium.

And, in the words of the young Naman Dhir, we enter the final game with one motive: Play for our pride.

“We have to play for our pride. We want to end the season on a high. We want to win the match,” he said at the pre-match conference for MI vs LSG on Thursday (May 16).

There are always two sides to what learnings a player can take away from a game of cricket.

“I think failures taught us better than the innings we played well,” the all-rounder said on the specific takeaway from the 2024 edition.

“I have learnt a lot from failures. How to stay calm in a situation. I have learnt a lot from failures and will implement it in the future.”

Lastly, Naman Dhir looked back at his maiden IPL season, that will remain special. It was one that announced his arrival, and he's all set to take up a notch.

“It was a mixed season in batting and bowling. Our batting was good in some matches, and in some, our bowling was good. So, it was like that,” he said in an assessment of the team’s performance.

“Still, we have put in a lot of effort. We will learn from here, and the next season will be even better,” Naman added.

Paltan, this is our final game of the IPL 2024 season. We play in front of thousands of loyal supporters like you, and your presence is crucial. We WILL give it our all, and we expect to see you there in large numbers, wearing your shade of blue. Your voices will be our strength, stimulating the MI Boys to overcome the LSG challenge. Keep the faith, keep believing.
