The hotel is virtually on top of Charing Cross station. From there both the Bakerloo line and the Northern line are two stops southbound to Waterloo from where trains to Southampton depart from.
i was there in March and used Blackberry - they were on time for both directions and the pricing seemed comparable to other companies. We are going back in August and I am using them again.
For Charing Cross you could travel on the Elizabeth Line from Heathrow to Paddington Station. There is a direct link via lifts and a walkway (not short) from the platform to the Bakerloo underground line which will take you to Charing Cross station, again a walk from the platform up to the exit.
The fare for each person using a separate contactless payment method will be £13.30.
You could try the walk from the hotel to Waterloo station when you are out and about to see if you would be happy to do it with luggage etc.
Exit the hotel, turn left then left again into the railway station.
Next to the entrance to platform 1 are steps down to street level, ignore these and instead take the walkway through the open area and along to the Jubilee Bridge over the river and next to the railway bridge.
At the other side go down to street level via the steps or lift and carry on walking along the side of the Festival Hall to Waterloo station. There are steps up to the concourse or further along a level entrance.
A couple of alternatives to the underground are the train from Charing Cross station to the next stop on the other side of the river at Waterloo East Station. Sit at the rear of the train for the ramp up to the walkway through to the upper level looking over the main concourse at Waterloo station. There is a lift and escalators down to the next level.
Or the 176 bus from across the road from the hotel in Duncannon Street to Waterloo Road. The stop is opposite the entrance to Waterloo station with escalators and a lift up to the next level.
Edited: 2:16 pm, May 12, 2024Given this thread has the heading Private Car Hire, there is always the option of getting a cab/Uber from the hotel to Waterloo. The need to cross the river means it will go around 3 sides of a square, but you won’t have to handle luggage through stations or long walks.
#18 do you mean Charing Cross? You’ve already mentioned that in an earlier post.
