Trinity class act in race for top spot - MyCity Logan

Trinity College Beenleigh was recently ranked among the nation’s top private schools and is currently vying for the title of the best.

The school was one of eight in Australia to receive an Excellence Award for Secondary School of the Year, non-government, as part of the 2024 Australian Education Awards.

The final winner will be announced at an awards night in Sydney this August.

Trinity College Principal Allison Elcoate said she was “thrilled and honoured” for the school to be recognised at the Australian Education Awards.

“In 2022 we won the Excellence Award for the Secondary School of the Year, non-government category, for exceeding student graduate exit outcomes across the Beaudesert and Logan region,” Ms Elcoate said.

“Now in 2024, we’re once again celebrated for our unwavering commitment to academic growth and student success.”

Ms Elcoate said there were many qualities and achievements responsible for the school’s success.

“We proudly boast a remarkable 98 per cent of students seamlessly transitioning into university or full-time work after school – exceeding our regional averages,” she said.

“A high percentage of students also secure their first choice at university, affirming our role as a premier pathway school.

“If a student can dream it, our staff can help to make it happen.”

Ms Elcoate said as a pathway school, Trinity “empowered students to pursue their aspirations confidently”.

“We are also being recognised for our partnership with the University of Melbourne’s cutting-edge New Metrics program,” she said.

“The program highlights learner agency, showcasing our college’s dedication to empowering students to engage and take responsibility for their learning, by fostering self-directed learning opportunities.

Beyond academics, Elcoate said, Trinity’s staff worked tirelessly to enrich students’ experiences.

“Our students exude pride in our school’s achievements, reflecting our staff’s steadfast commitment to ensuring the best possible learning outcomes.”
