The Fast & Furious franchise still has "gas in the tank," according to NBCUniversal Studio group chairman and chief content officer Donna Langley. The studio executive insists there are still stories to explore with the IP beyond the 2026 release of Fast & Furious 11.

In an interview with Variety, Langley discussed ways the Fast & Furious story could continue, "Where we go next is a question," she said. "We may pivot another time and bring it back to the streets of Los Angeles and maybe make it a more intimate story." NBC has successfully launched television shows based on movies like Pitch Perfect and Ted, with Langley implying that Fast & Furious could receive similar treatment. "Fast & Furious is a good one," she said. Langley's comments indicate that NBCUniversal is already planning for life after the Dominic Toretto family saga.

Recently, Fast & Furious actor Tyrese Gibson discussed the final installment with CBR, where he insisted the film's writers had listened to fans and were crafting a more grounded story. "I know that fans over the years have been wanting to kind of ground the film and get back to more of the street racing and get away from being in outer space and all the other stuff," he said.
