Christopher Nolan’s Inception, which was released in 2010, is one of the most loved and popular films of the 21st Century.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Elliot Page, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, Dileep Rao, and Michael Caine, Inception is often considered to be one of the best science-fiction films ever made, and is often cited as Nolan’s best filmmaking achievement.

The plot of the movie dealt with ‘incepting’ an idea in the subconscious of a person by penetrating their dreams. In Inception, Cobb (DiCaprio) steals information from his targets by entering their dreams. He is wanted for his alleged role in his wife's murder, and his only chance at redemption is to perform a nearly impossible task.

Now, because of a tweet by Empire Magazine, fans believe that a sequel to the movie is imminent. Empire Magazine’s tweet showed the totem featured in Inception using which the characters find out whether they’re still in a dream or in the real world. The tweet read, ‘coming soon.’

The end of the movie showed the totem spinning, which cut to black before the viewers could confirm if Cobb was still in a dream or not.

Many fans replied to the tweet asking or believing that a big news about Inception is on the way. Fans have long waited for a sequel to the iconic Nolan movie.

While one fan, who believed that the next edition of Empire Magazine is going to be a special Nolan edition, wrote, “So a Chris Nolan magazine edition? Spot all the references,” while another said, “Guys, it's a special tribute issue of Christopher Nolan that's coming out on May 23. This is not a hint of his next project.”

One more fan said, “Please no, not an Inception sequel or prequel or any other -quel. That movie, that ending, everything is perfect. Please just let it remain that way,” while one more fan tweeted, “If this is not an Inception 2 announcement, I'm reporting y’all.”

While it remains unclear if there will be a sequel to Inception, we’ll have to wait and see what Empire Magazine’s tweet is about.
