Liverpool are contemplating a summer move for player with over 100 Premier League appearances

Liverpool are reportedly interested in a summer move for a player who has made over 100 appearances in the Premier League.

There are going to be changes in the Liverpool squad this summer. It’s only natural that there would be considering it’s not just a new manager coming in this summer but almost an entirely new coaching staff.

Not to mention there is also going to be a new recruitment team in place led by the return of Michael Edwards, as well as Richard Hughes. The duo are expected to make changes.

One of their first jobs will be to replace the players who we already know are going to be moving onto pastures new.

Alex McCarthy on Liverpool’s transfer radar

One of those Liverpool players who will likely be moving on is Adrian. The veteran Spanish goalkeeper’s contract expires at the end of the season and now seems like the perfect time to part ways.

Even though Adrian is not a key member of the squad, Edwards and his team will need to replace him as well.

Liverpool need an experienced goalkeeper and it seems like they are on the market to find one. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Alex McCarthy is on the club’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Who is Alex McCarthy?

McCarthy’s contract expires at the end of the season at Southampton. He is an experienced goalkeeper who has played in the Premier League for years.

In total McCarthy has made 147 Premier League appearances and he’s always been regarded as a solid goalkeeper.

As a third option, considering he would count as a homegrown player he could be an ideal signing for Liverpool this summer.
