Microsoft Forms won't let me share a office link in view only

Hi there.

I am currently using microsoft forms for work and am using it to receive project briefs for my company. I have created a solid form that does what I need, and on it I have included a link actual marketing project brief template in the subheader (subcopy at the top?). Due to this being a template and many people needing it, I need to have this linked in "view only" mode so they can download the template and submit their specific need. When trying to link the word document (sharing via URL), it always links through to the "edit only" mode, defeating the whole purpose of this.

Anyway to guarantee this will link to a view only version?

Thank you!

Dear VolleyOperations,

Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Based on your description, you want to share a Word document in view-only mode within a form, you can follow these steps to see the result:

1. Upload the Word document to OneDrive or SharePoint.

2. Right-click on the document and select "Share".

3. Under "Link settings", select "Can view".

4. Click "Apply", copy the link and paste it into your Microsoft Forms subheader.

5. Click gear button(more form settings) in the form, select "Collaborate or Duplicate".

6. Under "Share as a template" section, click "Get a link to duplicate".
