Homixide Gang Gives Us Another Anthem, “R50”

Atlanta’s dynamic rap duo, Homixide Gang, unveiling their latest single and accompanying video, “R50,” produced by Cxdy (Juice WRLD, The Weekend, Lil Uzi Vert, Don Toliver), MW, UpMadeIt  and Skipass. The track grips listeners from the very first note as Homixide Meechie and Homixide Beno! seamlessly trade bars over high-octane, guitar-heavy production. Together they effortlessly weave their lyrical abilities into the fabric of the song, and their commanding presence is felt with each line, “Me and my n*ggas don’t give no fuck, no understanding bout this shit. N*gga don’t play around with this, we got zero tolerance. The face-melting intensity of “R50” evokes a visceral rock and roll experience, leaving listeners feeling as if they’ve transcended to a new dimension.

In the video directed by Decat, Homixide Gang’s infectious energy leaps off the screen. Drenched in sleek, all-black-everything attire and tearing through the streets on flashy motorcycles, the duo exudes an aura of refusing to be overlooked or underestimated. As the song progresses, each line hits with increasing intensity.

“R50” arrives fresh on the heels of Homixide Gang’s SOLD OUT run of five shows in China at the end of last month. Commanding 1500-capacity venues, they not only delivered electrifying performances but also teased audiences with a sneak peek of “R50.” As the pioneering Opium artists to grace this market, their presence marked a historic milestone in their artistic journey. The buzz generated from these performances traveled online, amplifying their presence and solidifying their status as trailblazers to watch. Watch the recap HERE. Last month they shared “HI-VOLTAGE,” an exhilarating single coated in twitchy raps and unbridled machismo. Soaked in breathless flows and gleaming production, it’s a soundtrack for show-offs — a celebratory theme song for victory. Directed by Decat and Taco, the video puts a sinister twist on the vibes. For it, the duo reimagines the film Shottas, with their version unfolding in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood. The track received praise from HotNewHipHop, who praised it as an “earworm street anthem,” and from Hypebeast, who commended the duo for “continuing to define their futuristic trap sound.” Listen to “HI-VOLTAGE” HERE. Watch the video HERE.   As stylish as it is powerful, “HI-VOLTAGE” lives up to its name in every respect. A constellation of mystique, energetic raps and dystopian production, Homixide Gang specializes in futuristic trap; street raps that blend bulletproof swagger of the bando with surreal soundscapes designed to ignite a crowd. After breaking out with their Snotty Hill project in 2021, the duo only added to their arsenal with Homixide Lifestyle (2022), Snot or Not (2023), and 5th Amndmnt (2023). With their most recent effort, they pushed their sounds to even more electrifying dimensions.
