Ulu Tiram attack: Queen pays last respects to two slain policemen

JOHOR BARU: Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, joined funeral prayers for the two policemen killed in the Ulu Tiram police station attack here.

Her Majesty was seen consoling family members of the victims, who came from Pahang and Perak, at Tunku Laksamana Abdul Jalil Mosque here.

The bodies of the victims were brought out of the mosque in the Johor police headquarters here at about 11.50am on Saturday (May 18) after funeral prayers were performed.

Police will escort the two hearses carrying the remains of Konst Ahmad Azza Fahmi Azhar and Konst Muhamad Syafiq Ahmad Said to their respective hometowns in Bidor, Perak, and Gambang, Pahang.

Earlier, the bodies were brought out of the Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) Forensic Medical Department to the mosque here upon completion of the post-mortem.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain also joined the prayers.
