Junaid Akram, owner of Better Choice Restoration and Carpet Cleaning in Mississauga, Ontario, used support from the CDAP program to revitalize their online presence with a new SEO-friendly website!

Junaid Akram began working in the carpet cleaning industry in 1996. After getting some experience under his belt he founded his own company based in Mississauga, Ontario: Better Choice Carpet Cleaning System Ltd.  For more than 25 years, Junaid and his team have offered their restoration and cleaning services to cities across the Greater Toronto Area. These include carpet and area rug cleaning, tile and grout cleaning and sealing, marble cleaning and polishing, tile stripping and waxing, and water damage restoration.

With their dedication to safety and quality, Better Choice tailors its services to the unique requirements of a home. Junaid places high importance on the relationships he forms with his clients:

“I believe in open communication and always strive to go the extra mile on every job. My goal? To leave you not just satisfied, but truly happy with the service you receive.”

Looking to enhance his digital presence and receive support with digital marketing and SEO, Junaid discovered the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP). CDAP aims to equip small businesses like Better Choice with the resources and confidence required to undergo digital transformation. Upon acceptance into the program, small businesses can collaborate with an E-Commerce Advisor to develop a digital adoption plan and learn more about e-commerce solutions for their business. The CDAP program also provides access to a $2,400 micro-grant that can be used to adopt new e-commerce technologies, to help grow their business.

Once paired with his E-Commerce Advisor, Junaid was able to discuss his digital transformation goals and learn more about the micro-grant. The E-Commerce Advisor also consulted him on the different options for e-commerce solutions and tools as well as cybersecurity and digital marketing best practices. Armed with this knowledge, Junaid utilized the micro-grant to create a new website for his business. This new e-commerce store helped level up Better Choice’s online operations with the inclusion of an online booking tool to allow customers to conveniently book services.

He also incorporated SEO into his website to enhance their online presence further. With access to the right tools to create an SEO-friendly e-commerce website, Better Choice can now drive more people to their website and find new customers. When reflecting on his experience with the CDAP program, Junaid says that,

“[My E-Commerce Advisor] was really helpful explaining the process [and] guided me all the way. Thank you Digital Main Street!”.

According to Junaid, the support from the CDAP program was “spot on” in identifying the digital needs of Better Choice. In the future, he plans to further invest in his online presence by adopting more “new tools along the way.” Junaid recommends that other small businesses establish “good, SEO-friendly websites”, too.

If you are a small business with goals like Junaid’s and are looking to strengthen your digital presence, then the support available from the Canada Digital Adoption Program may be a great fit for you.
