Apple TV+ Cancels Sci-Fi Series Constellation Starring Noomi Rapace

Apple TV+ has decided not to renew its sci-fi psychological thriller series "Constellation" for a second season. The show, starring Noomi Rapace and Jonathan Banks, concluded its eight-episode first season on March 27, 2024.

"Constellation" premieredon February 21, 2024 and followed Noomi Rapace as Jo Ericcson, a member of the European Space Agency, who returns to Earth after a space mission goes awry. She soon notices stark differences in her reality, leading to strange revelations about what occurred during her mission. The series also starred Rosie Coleman, Davina Coleman, James D'Arcy, Barbara Sukowa, Will Catlett, and Julian Looman.

The show was created and written by Peter Harness, based on a concept from Sean Jablonski. Despite receiving generally positive reviews from critics and viewers, Apple TV+ has opted not to continue with a second season six weeks after the season finale.

In a previous interview with ScreenRant, Noomi Rapace shared her thoughts on what she would want to explore if the series received a second season: "I would love to revisit and bring her back to life again. I think there's way more to do." She also expressed interest in interacting with certain characters, including Will and Jonathan, and meeting Bud and Henry more.

The cancellation of "Constellation" means that fans will not get a resolution to the show's central mysteries surrounding Jo's space mission and the strange occurrences she experiences upon returning to Earth. The eight episodes of the first and only season will have to suffice in telling this sci-fi story.
