Ryan Gosling has clarified his desire to play Ghost Rider in the MCU.

During an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with his Fall Guy co-star Emily Blunt, Gosling talked about wanting to play Ghost Rider. Host Josh Horowitz first reminded Gosling that he told him that he wanted to play Ghost Rider.

While Gosling didn't deny the rumor, he did seem open to it. However, no movement has been made (at least that he made clear). “I don't know,” Gosling simply replied when asked if he had any updates.

Emily Blunt was shocked by this whole development. She thought that they wore avoiding superhero films as “a badge of honor.”

“No, you do,” Gosling replied before asking her to join him in Ghost Rider.

Ghost Rider has not been introduced in the MCU yet. However, Sony previously released a film with Nicolas Cage playing the character. Gosling's wife, Eva Mendes, stars in the film as well. A sequel, Spirit of Vengeance, was released in 2011 and also featured Idris Elba.

The Fall Guy stars Gosling and Blunt, the stars of two of 2023's biggest films Barbie and Oppenheimer. In the film, Gosling plays a stuntman who gets dragged into a real adventure after nearly losing his career. Blunt plays his ex-girlfriend and director in the film.

David Leitch directed the film. To date, The Fall Guy has grossed over $100 million at the box office. During its opening weekend, the film made $27.7 million.

Ryan Gosling is an award-winning actor who has been nominated for three Oscars in his career. He first gained notoriety for his role on Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse Club. He subsequently appeared in Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Goosebumps.

On the big screen, Gosling had roles in Remember the Titans and The Believer, which put him on the map. Three years later, Gosling starred in the film adaptation of Nicolas Sparks' novel The Notebook with Rachel McAdams. It was a box office hit and grew his star profile.

In 2006, Gosling starred in Half Nelson. He landed his first of three acting Oscars for the performance (ultimately losing to Daniel Day-Lewis for There Will Be Blood). Still, Gosling continued his rise to fame starring in films such as Blue Valentine, Crazy, Stupid, Love, and Drive.

The mid-2010s featured a variety of roles taken on by Gosling. He starred in Gangster Squad, The Big Short, and The Nice Guys. He also landed his second Oscar nomination for his performance in Damien Chazelle's La La Land.

His next two roles both brought Gosling to space (Blade Runner 2049 and First Man). Gosling then took a few years off from the big screen before remerging in the Russo Brothers' The Gray Man. He starred in the action thriller alongside Chris Evans and Ana de Armas.

Greta Gerwig's Barbie was the biggest film of 2023, grossing over $1.4 billion at the box office. Gosling played Ken in the film and landed his third acting Oscar nomination, this time for Best Supporting Actor.
