I... have a quirk?

Chapter 11: I'm a... vigilante now?

Notes:

Hi guys!! I'm back from my little holiday I took with my family. I was trying to get this chapter out sooner but I had no motivation. sorry for taking so long. I hope you enjoy.

Chapter Text

It had been three weeks since his first encounter with crime. Izuku would like to say he hasn't made it a habit to intervene, but he'd be lying. It's not like he tried to, really. It happened on accident. He's since realised, that he is slowly becoming a known vigilante. Not super well known, but enough people in this corner of Musutafu know him that his existence has started to spread to other parts.

With that however, he fears that the heroes are closer to him than ever. It's not exactly vigilanteism if he couldn't stop his quirk, right?

He moved from the tree, to an abandoned building that doesn't look too high up on the demolition chart. It's a bit nicer, especially since the rain will catch up with him soon, and it's getting a bit cold. He found some old fabric in some of the bins in the rich neighbourhood, so at least he's not going to freeze to death, and he's got some cushioning underneath his head.

The rooms are dusty, and have little-to-no furniture in them, there was one with a spare futon in though! He was so grateful that he left an offering for whoever gave him that good of luck, even if it was his last piece of food and caused him to go hungry for the next few days.

Tonight however, he's hanging out on some random rooftop, rather high, but not too high that no-one else could make it there. He was wearing some thick joggers, black in colour, the Kaminaris had gifted him just before he left, a black shirt, white graphic designs splattered about, and a black hoodie. With the addition of socks and shoes, and a blanket he found outside a bedding store, it was pretty ugly in the daylight, which he imagined is why it was in the garbage.

Izuku wasn't paying much attention to the things happening around him, until he heard breathing from his rooftop, he whipped his head around, getting his body ready to follow (Not that he would know how to fight without the element of surprise anyway, he's 8 for god sake). The man opposite him appeared to be around 30 years old, with black hair, a jumpsuit clearly suited for fighting and- Oh. Oh no, it's Eraserhead. He tried to get his wings out to fly, but the blanket got in his way.

"Hey, kid. It's ok. You're not in trouble" Eraserhead mumbled, almost sweetly if that was even possible.

Izuku replied with nothing, and became more frantic in trying to remove the blankets as Eraserhead stepped forward. His breath sped up, his hearing became better, his eyesight too. But at the same time he couldn't see or hear enough, not over the sound of his own heartbeat, or the blanket that wouldn't come loose, the tears that began to brew in his eyes. His breathing now frantic, not able to see or hear the outside wprld, not being able to feel anything, and he panicked more.

Useless Deku. You can fight criminals, but you can't get out of blankets? Pathetic. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless.

"Kid ------- hea------?"

Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless.

"Kid, follow m---- ----thing."

Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless. Useless.

"In, 1---- Out, 1,2 ------, In-"

Useless. Useless.

"There we go kid, c'mon."

Izuku vision swirled back into focus, still hazy with tears, but at least he could see. His hearing back to normal, although his heart still beat with the might of a polar bear. His shaky hands calming down. He could feel his hand being held out onto someone's chest, and another hand cradling his head to the same chest.

"It's ok, I'm not going to hurt you."

"...T-Thank-k Yo-ou-u" Izuku stuttered out, voice barely audible.

"It's alright Kid." Eraserhead started, pulling back, giving Izuku room to run if he wanted.

He stayed.

"I wanted to talk to you about something."

"O-okay" Izuku wanted to run, but he knew he might as well just get it over with instead of delaying the inevitable.

"Tsukauchi put me on your case after Kaminari called, it's not official or anything, so don't worry about that. But I know you've been living alone"

"If you want me to go into the system can I at least grab my bags first?"

"Hold on, that's not what I was going to say."

"S-Sorr-y, Si-r. I didn't me-an to inter-rupt you. I'm so so so sorry." Izuku began frantically apologising, almost drawing himself into another attack

"Kid. It's alright. I'm not mad. I wanted to ask if you'd like to come back to my home for a warm meal and a shower?"

"I don't want to intrude."

"I wouldn't offer if I thought you were intruding. Me and my husband are both heroes, and we won't hurt you. We just don't want such a young kid out on the street with no food."

"..Okay." Izuku began following Eras- Aizawa. Taking his blanket with him.

After walking for 30 minutes, they finally arrived at the apartment.

Aizawa unlocked the door, "I'm home." He announced.

"Welcome home hon-! OMG you found hi. I'm so relieved. I'll go get a towel an a spare change of clothes." Present Mic ran off into other rooms to get the stuff for Izuku.

Aizawa led him to the bathroom.

"Ok, you can use any of the products in there, 'Zashi will grab a towel for you and will leave the spare clothes outside the door. If you need any help call one of our names. Take as long as you need, dinner will be ready in about an hour."

"Tha-hank yo-u..!" Izuku said gratefully, bowing to show it.

"Bye kid, see you later."

Izuku got in the shower and began to rinse off, he had to admit, being in a house was nice.
