Star Wars' Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen and live-action Ahsoka Tano actress Rosario Dawson proved themselves to be real-life heroes after coming to someone's aid during FAN EXPO Philadelphia on Star Wars Day. Dawson and Christensen are well-known for their iconic roles as two of Star Wars' most powerful Jedi, but it seems their heroism and compassion extend far beyond the screen. In fact, during a panel titled "Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson: A Galactic Reunion" at FAN EXPO Philadelphia on May 4th, 2024, the two both jumped into action when they realized something was amiss with an audience member.

As Dawson was answering a question about how Star Wars audiences could "boost the signal even more for Star Wars," she began to look alarmed as she noticed someone in the audience. Although she stressed she didn't want to draw attention, she acknowledged a real medical emergency was taking place in the front row. Christensen immediately rose, climbed down from the stage, and crouched down on the floor to check on a member of the audience who had just collapsed, with Dawson following close behind. Neither Christensen nor Dawson hesitated to immediately come to their aid.

Screen Rant is a media sponsor at the event, and witnessed it play out. We have spoken to the person in question, who asked us to share this statement:

My name is Paige and I wanted to let ScreenRant readers and the fans that were at the FanExpo in Philadelphia, know that I am okay. I do suffer from a functional Neurological disorder (FND), with Non-Epileptic seizures and have been for 17 years. During my Hayden Christensen photo op, I had an episode with several seizures. He was there helping alongside my best friends, who we call ourselves The Llama Lords of Science.

During the panel I unfortunately had another episode, which resulted in me falling out of the wheelchair that I was in, but luckily one of my friends and fellow Llama Lords noticed and she practically dove to catch me to make sure I did not hit my head. I can not thank Hayden and Rosario enough for being there to help, and make sure my privacy was shielded. Having these seizures is a very vulnerable and scary event and to have so many people around to help and give support is amazing.

I even thank the other fans in the audience; their patience and silence were really appreciated. I felt bad holding up the panel and interrupting things.

But again, a special thanks to The Llama Lords of Science; Emma who is an RN, Jen, Brie, Bre, Alicia and now our two new members, Rosario Dawson and Hayden Christensen. Our group isn’t just a group of friends, we are a family and it’s a bond that’ll never be broken. I always want to shout out to Ray, another LLOS member who couldn’t make it to the con, she is a part of our family.

Another special thing about LLOS, we have been best friends for a year and just met in person this past weekend at the con; but it felt like we have been friends for 10 years. I will forever be grateful for everyone.

I also have to give a special thanks to the staff at FanExpo Philly for being so helpful and accommodating, and making me as comfortable as possible.

Hayden Christensen & Rosario Dawson Showed True Compassion

So much about this event at FAN EXPO revealed what amazing people Rosario Dawson and Hayden Christensen both are. From Dawson wanting not to draw attention to another person's emergency to both Dawson and Christensen repeatedly saying "she'll be okay" to reassure audience members who didn't know what was happening, their efforts went far beyond trying to help the individual. Instead, they remained mindful of everyone in the room, and they preserved the person's right to privacy. They also didn't move from their spots next to the person on the floor until everything was resolved, shielding the audience member.

The moment also revealed how compassionate Star Wars fans can be as well. For the 15–20 minutes in which various staff came to assist, the theater remained absolutely quiet; every single person in the audience remained completely silent out of respect for what was taking place. Once more revealing their kindness and thoughtfulness, when the situation was over, Dawson and Christensen thanked both the staff for the help and the audience for their respect and silence while the person received assistance.

Although a scary, terrible moment, this situation at the expo truly revealed how kind Star Wars actors and audiences are. In particular, it revealed more than ever that Dawson and Christensen both absolutely deserve the roles they've been given in Star Wars and the love that they've both received from Star Wars audiences, especially in recent years. While Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano are incredible characters within Star Wars, it's amazing to know that the actors portraying them are such warm, kind people in real life as well.
