Accessing school records from 20 years ago - NSW

My husband is applying to uni to study education, and has been asked for his school records. We are 32, so school was a while ago, and I've never lived in NSW so not sure who to contact.

Does anyone know where would be the best place to contact? His old school, department of education, or somewhere else?

I'd get your husband to Google "access school records New South Wales".

Also, get him to make dinner tonight.

Thanks so much. He cooks sometimes, but does all the housework - inside and out. He doesn't like asking for help, so I do for him sometimes. Sometimes social media is faster and more precise than a google search.

If he wants a copy of his Higher School Certificate, he'd have to fill out a form and pay a fee to NESA https://www.nsw.gov.au/education-and-training/nesa/hsc/results-and-certificates/replacement-certificates

If he just needs confirmation of attendance maybe the school can just write a letter for him

Thanks!

What sort of records are they after? School records are only kept for 7 years but School Counselling records are kept for 99 years

They only care about if he has a school certificate, higher school cert or a UAI/ATAR score.

They don't care where he went to primary school (20 years ago).

He has a Cert IV in Education Aide, but didn't finish high school

I don't see why they'd care then. That should meet the requirement for mature aged entry IIRC without a Year 12 equivalent. And no school records other than a Year 12 equivalent are in the requirements that I can recall
