I use Premiere myself but its subscription based.

Several editors I know have jumped to DaVinci Resolve, there is a free version.

Learn what you'll need into your professional career, i suggest go for Premiere, that's it

I'm seconding DaVinci Resolve. All the editors coming through my post house that use Premiere are kinda looked down on with "why?" Plus, it's actually free and you can learn most everything you need from it.

Resolve is free and has world class color grading built in.

Capcut for smaller stuff if you don't want to get overwhelmed or don't see yourself being a professional editor.

As of right now, nothing beats this FREE professional solution: use DaVinci Resolve 18.6 for editing, visual effects, motion graphics, color correction and audio post production, all in a single software tool for Mac, Windows and LinuxDaVinci Resolve download page

Clipify, it's amazing and free.
