Prince Louis' sweet moment at Chelsea Flower Show proves he's the least camera-shy royal

As the Chelsea Flower Show gets underway for another year, the Royal Family are expected to be out in force - with King Charles and Queen Camilla leading the celebrations.

There have been countless memorable moments at the show over the years, but very few measure up to Prince Louis' debut in 2019. Along with his parents and elder siblings, Louis visited the show to see the Back to Nature Garden the Princess of Wales had designed.

It was here that the youngster took some of his earliest steps, played with his family and proved that he is the least camera shy member of the Royal Family.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is an annual event which has been running for 111 years. It is an occasion that has a long associated history with the Royal Family.

Back in 2019, the Princess of Wales co-designed a garden in the show, alongside award-winning architects, Andrée Davies and Adam White. When it opened, she had three very special visitors come along to offer their verdict of the amazing Back to Nature Garden.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte were seen climbing on a waterfall, swinging on a rope swing and collecting sticks to add to the nature garden.

But it was Prince Louis who stole everyone's attention. While we had previously seen him in several sweet birthday pictures, the visit marked the first time he was seen walking in public.

The young royal was seen brandishing a twig while toddling towards the camera- he was clearly very curious because he put his face right up to the lens to have a closer look.

He was then helped up onto the rope swing by his doting father and given a small push while his siblings explored the rest of the garden. The other two Wales children were very excited too as they climbed on a waterfall barefoot. Princess Charlotte even showed off her impressive French skills as she shouted “Ooh La La”.

A source told HELLO Magazine: "The [Princess] wanted to show her children what she has helped to create. She’s spent a lot of time on this and they have noticed. Naturally she wanted them to try out the garden and its features."

In a statement at the time, Kensington Palace said: "Her Royal Highness is a strong advocate for the proven benefits the outdoors has on physical and mental health, and the positive impact that nature and the environment can have on childhood development in particular.

"Over the past months, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have helped the [Princess] gather moss, leaves and twigs to help decorate the RHS Back to Nature Garden. Hazel sticks collected by the family were also used to make the garden’s den."

The Princess - who is an important advocate for Early Years education- told the BBC in an interview with gardening legend Monty Don: “I really feel that nature and being interactive outdoors has huge benefits on our physical and mental wellbeing, particularly for young children."
