How Dark Will Terrifier 3 Be?

Terrifier 3 is set to be the darkest movie in the franchise. How far do you think T3 can go into dark territory? (And now we are not talking about scenes of disturbing murders at all) Is there a chance that Leone might have made some risky story decisions? Personally, I hope it's some really really dark shit, so to speak.

We don’t know for now besides what Leone has said which will likely be true. Once a trailer is released we’ll have a better idea. I hope it’s so violent and dark that the Cenobites boycott it and theaters need emergency kittens and paramedics on standby. I want to slump down a wall after the showing and question my decision to see it.

For some reason, the dark tone of this movie excites me even more than disturbing murders. Therefore, I hope that T3 will be almost hopeless, Art will become scary and unpredictable on a completely different prohibitive level, and Sienna and Jonathan will be in constant danger.

It helps that Sienna is now officially superhuman like Art and has a magic sword so she stands a much better chance than she did in T2.

I don't even know what to think about this. If the central characters aren't in constant danger, how can T3 be so dark? I mean, we're supposed to care about them, right? I think Sienna and Jonathan should be even more vulnerable than they were in T2. Honestly, I wish the magic sword would disappear altogether or lose its power.

Sienna and Jonathan will still be in danger because Art and the entity will still be trying to kill them and presumably everyone around them. Sienna is superhuman like Art but that doesn’t mean she’s invulnerable and every other character that isn’t a villain will have no powers at all. What makes a film dark is more than just danger to the protagonists. It’s a matter of tone, atmosphere and what the characters experience as well.

I'll bring a gameboy with emergency tetris if needed

Jonathan is a goner I think. The still of Sienna screaming really looks like she’s seeing him dead or being killed. And usually with Art, the body left behind is in several pieces. Someone being turned into Christmas tree decorations is pretty much guaranteed.

Exactly! This is the first thought that comes to mind. When I saw that pic from the set of T3 where Sienna was either screaming or traumatized/shocked by something, I also thought that she probably saw Jonathan dead.

That face she makes. Holy shit does that look, well, terrified lol. One of the better scream faces I’ve seen.

A few weeks before filming wrapped, DHT almost hurled because of a scene he filmed. So that's...something

Man, art himself

Well they are teasing that a kid is evolved and its a big will they wont they. I say go for it lol each movie has been increasingly more shocking then the last and creative with the kills. I wont be disappointed either way they go but i say let the fictional kid have it lol

They had pennywise kill a child on screen and I commended the movie for having the balls to actually show it

This is a very different example simply for how ruthless art is with his kills but honestly I think this movie is where they’ll take the most risks with crossing the line most movies won’t dare cross

Art killed two children offscreen in All Hallows’ Eve so it isn’t exactly unprecedented. I don’t think Leone would make a teaser like that and then post about people reacting to it if something like it isn’t in the film proper. It doesn’t matter to me because it’s fiction.

I think wat makes this more of an anticipated threat is that knowing how up close the deaths can get in this franchise.. is Damien going to bring the audience thru the actual killing of this kid(s)? Even in T2 a kid died in siennas dream sequence but im curious if we will see the process of the slaying.

this^^

I hope Art wins and that it ends on a cliffhanger. I want a slasher where the killer prevails and the audience is left upset and with pure anxiety. Make me FEEL something.

I’m the same way I’m ngl, franchises have gotten too comfortable salvaging the final girl but I can respect a movie that takes no prisoners. Ik some ppl would disagree but I feel like the fact that no one is safe makes a villain 10x scarier and threatening, that’s the type of shit that follows you home

You are spot on! Having that feeling of NOBODY is safe is what makes a horror movie great. The final girl living has become normal. Sure there are times when the final girl kills the villain it’s so satisfying. I’ve never seen All Hallows Eve though. Does that dive into his character’s background at all? I watched the second Terrifier a long time ago so I can’t remember if they did then. I’m super curious about his background

u/yallpressed avatar

No they never really dived into the character’s background in All Hallows Eve , it was kinda like some shorts within a movie but they killed the two kid protagonist which i thought was interesting ! Damien said we should expect to get a little content of Art’s background in his next film

I hope so! I’m really interested in how he came to be. Thanks for the info though!

I assume it will be extremely dark and have trouble getting into theaters.

I think it will be the ESB of the series. After the heros won in the second instalment the demon/Art will win in this one.

Yes

It'll be brutal but if you're a fan you'll enjoy. Hopefully it doesn't make it too silly but it is based on a short film about a killer clown. So I'm down.

Knowing there's a scene that almost made thornton throwing up it'll probably be very dark

Well they said themselves that those kids die, and apparently it’s worse than Allie’s death. And if it’s worse than the bedroom scene than that’s crazy.
