Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton are reteaming for a series for Peacock. I’m curious about the concept as it can’t be The Simple Life all over again because Nicole grew out of the clueless socialite persona years ago (she raises chickens, does cooking videos for Instagram and has tween children).
My guess would be they train other young socialites in “real life” tasks or Nicole trains Paris (who now has two babies). Whatever it is, demand is very high. People are really nostalgic for these two together.
Chris Hemsworth is, I think, best known for Thor. Out of the entire Marvel Avengers bunch, I would say those films made him a movie star and he has the least diverse career. It was a comeback for RDJ, it was a money maker for Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson, and it was an accelerator for Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner but for Hemsworth, I would say it put him on the map for North American audiences. He came from a soap opera background and I can appreciate his defense of Marvel and his take on actors slagging it. But I think what he’s misinterpreting about Scorsese’s comments (I can’t believe we are still talking about this!!!!) is that these superhero movies have a massive impact on the way films are financed and fandoms grew in power to begin to dictate artistic choices.
Anyway, that’s a small part of the interview that is overall really interesting, especially Chris’s discussion about early testing for Alzheimer's, which runs in his family.
Gwyneth Paltrow cooked breakfast for her high school friends and I am not here to knock her technique. It is her real kitchen and this isn’t made for TV. My question is about the portions: there are five people at the table plus the person filming. She served one frittata and about 12 pieces of bacon. For six people. I know if me and Lainey were there, we’d be wondering when the rest of the food is coming out. It’s not like she will offer up croissants (not Paleo) but this seems a little paltry for six people.
You know who I really missed at this year’s Met Gala? Tracee Ellis Ross. Design houses would be lining up to dress her but she must not have been feeling it this year.
