Three for £1 from the charity shop. Went out for milk and came back with this ‘haul’.
First off I found the Jan Garbarek. Needed to find two more for the deal (otherwise it's £1 each). But found three more, so needed to find another two.... and so on.
Ben Folds, Goo Goo Dolls, George Benson (in his jazz guitar incarnation), Gamelan music from Bali, Heavy Nuggets, Fairport Convention (their best album, Liege & Lief), The Linkster, Pete Droge, and a weird punk covers compilation with a bunch of no hopers and a few good ones (Electric Sex Circus!?!, Mandi & the Morons ?!!, Debbie Juvenile!!!?? who are these people?)
Nothing really exceptional, but very cheap and I had a nice chat with the lady at the till.
Link Wray- nice!
Sweet on the Goo Goo Dolls love them, still don't have boy named goo yet either. Nice Haul at 3 for a quid.
Liege & Lief is an all-time classic. I'm not a completist for Fairport Convention, but I am for Richard Thompson, and that album (and maybe Unhalfbricking) is to Brit electric folk what In the Court of the Crimson King is to prog.
A Sailor's Life is a fantastic track. One of their best I think. I'm not a completist either but that era is really good.
