'Ruthless Attack' | Crime Stoppers offering reward in killing of 4-year-old

SAN ANTONIO — Crime Stoppers of San Antonio is offering a new reward in the attack where a four-year-old girl was killed off Windsor Hollow. Investigators are hoping this new effort will generate leads to capture two men the Bexar County Sheriff's Office is working to track down.

KENS 5 spoke with the grandfather of the child who was killed. Hector Castillo said he is still in shock and identified her as Maryann.

"That was my baby girl," he said.

The shooting happened on May 8. Investigators said Maryann, her parents and two other siblings were shot at their home in what authorities believe was a targeted attack. The 4-year-old was the only one that didn't survive.

Nadiv Hirani is the Vice President of Crime Stoppers, which is now offering up to a $5,000 reward in the case.

"To us that is the main important thing is getting the case solved," Hirani said. "It is absolutely heartbreaking. I can't even express how hurt I feel for the family. It just a brazen ruthless attack."

Crime Stoppers of San Antonio is a non-profit that's made up off 11 board members. They work hand in hand with area law enforcement.

"They wanted to use the resource of Crime Stoppers showing that the family and us as a city are more than happy to use Crime Stoppers as a resource to try and find these people," he said.

Hirani said offering money does help solves cases. He also reminds people if they are afraid to speak up they can and will remain anonymous.

"You can be a family member," Hirani said. "A friend of the criminal, you will remain anonymous. We just want to solve the cases and get this family justice and solace."
