Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has commented that there is no such situation that someone from outside will support and strengthen BNP. He said, ‘those who will show power, their power is narrowed in the Middle East. There is no reason to think that it will expand here.

Obaidul Quader addressed a press conference at the Awami League president’s office in Dhanmondi in the capital on Monday afternoon. He said, US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu is coming to Bangladesh to further the relationship between the two countries. We will see the implementation of what US President Joe Biden is saying in the letter sent to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The bridge minister said, ‘I am not thinking about who is coming here. Israel does not listen to their president. We who are the government elected by the people’s votes, who are we to fear?’

When the journalists drew attention to the fact that BNP has once again started discussions with its partners, Awami League General Secretary said, “They will protest and sit with partners.” We have no say there. If they want to proceed politically, then I will deal with it politically. But if they hit the streets with preparations for arson, then we will deal with it.”

Awami League’s crime is unforgivable, Obaidul Quader said that there is no record of running away in the history of Awami League. Their acting chairman Tariq Rahman fled abroad in 2007 with this pledge that he will not do politics anymore. Their main leader is on the run. He also said that in their speech on October 28, they said that Awami League will not find an escape route. But in the end I saw that in Nayapaltan, one by one, it was the BNP. Why do we run away? Our strength is the people of the country. If they start terror in the name of movement again, they will have to flee.

Obaidul Quader said, Awami League is not needed to wipe out BNP. Their negative politics is enough. They will have to pay the price for the great mistake BNP made by not coming to the elections.

Awami League general secretary said in response to the question of journalists whether there is a 14-party alliance or not, there is a 14-party alliance. The leader of the alliance Sheikh Hasina herself said that there is an alliance and will sit for talks at the right time.
