The skies over Metro Vancouver and much of BC were illuminated last night by the Northern Lights, leaving people in absolute awe.

The Aurora Borealis was visible in many areas you usually wouldn’t be able to see them from due to a rare geomagnetic storm. The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said last night’s solar storm was the first of this strength since 2005.

Pictures shared on social media show captivating pink, green and purple colours illuminating the skies over the province.
