Anytime I equip my heirlooms before games they just de select themselves is there a fix for this?

Queue for a match and equip the heirloom but stay in that menu while you get in the match
Ok I thought for a second it was only me having this issue
go to meelee tab, equip your heirloom then click on the deathbox tab at the bottom then press save and exit
