As the 2024 NFL Draft class has now been officially chosen by teams, and we start to get a sense of how the rosters will look this season, let’s rank the top 10 quarterbacks in the league.

1- Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

No explanation should be needed for Mahomes to be in the top slot; he’s the best quarterback in football, and it isn’t even close.

2- Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

Jackson is now a two-time MVP and has one of the highest winning percentages of any quarterback ever. Jackson is 62-24 and has completely changed the Baltimore Ravens franchise since stepping in as the full-time starter in 2019. Jackson is well on his way to becoming the best dual-threat quarterback in NFL history, and he continues to make strides as a passer every year.

3- Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Allen has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league for years now and has proven to be great in both the regular season and the playoffs. People often knock Allen for failing to beat the Chiefs in the playoffs, but the truth is Allen played very well in those losses. The turnover concerns are definitely there, but his unique throwing and running abilities earn him a spot in the top three.

4- Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

Across social media, we see people slandering Justin Herbert for not having achieved anything in the NFL, but that isn’t fair. Winning games isn’t just about the quarterback. Does it help to have a good quarterback? Yes. Does winning depend solely on the quarterback? No. Herbert has been dominating defenses since entering the league. He has one of the best arms in the NFL, if not the best. People look at Chargers’ first-round pick Joe Alt and wonder why they didn’t get Herbert a weapon. As head coach Jim Harbaugh said, offensive linemen are weapons, and Joe Alt is a very good one. Herbert should still perform at a very high level this year, despite losing Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

5- Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Although Burrow’s season ended early last year with a wrist injury, and we aren’t sure how he will look upon returning from that, I can say with full confidence that Burrow will still be elite next year. The former Heisman Trophy winner is one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the NFL. Burrow has led this Bengals team to playoff victories and even to the Super Bowl. The Bengals addressed their biggest need this offseason: the offensive line. With Burrow being protected better, I expect him to stay healthy and return to being elite.

6- C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans

Going into the 2023 NFL Draft, C.J. Stroud was looked at as the second-best quarterback in that draft class, with Bryce Young being considered the best. Young struggled in his rookie year, and while there is plenty of hope for him, the Panthers would like to get that pick back for Stroud. The Ohio State rookie performed about as well as you can in your freshman professional season. Bobby Slowik, the Houston Texans’ offensive coordinator, did a tremendous job with Stroud and improved their offense. The Houston Texans front office successfully turned around the second-worst team in football last season, even winning a playoff game. Stroud, similar to Burrow, is one of the most accurate quarterbacks in football and, despite being so young, deserves to be on this list.

7- Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford is still underrated across the league. When healthy, Stafford is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. His unique arm angles, accuracy, and ability to improvise and manipulate defenders are what makes Stafford so special. While staying on the field is a real concern, Stafford and head coach Sean McVay make one of the best player-coach duos in the NFL.

8- Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott receives a lot of criticism for his subpar playoff performances, and for good reason”he hasn’t played like his normal self come the postseason. However, it’s hard to deny the success Prescott has had in the NFL. He has been one of the best pure pocket passers in the league for years and has led the Cowboys’ offense to be one of the league’s best, especially last season. If it weren’t for Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson playing out of his mind in the second half of the season, Prescott would have won the MVP last year. Prescott is deserving of a new contract and another weapon alongside CeeDee Lamb.

9- Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts had a bit of a down year last season, but with the Eagles hiring a new play caller in Kellen Moore, hopefully Hurts and the Philadelphia offense can return to form. Hurts has the potential to climb multiple spots on this list if he can play like his old self. Hurts was one of the best rushing threats under center for the Eagles, but he was also a premier thrower of the football outside the numbers. With former division rival Saquon Barkley also joining the Eagles this season, Hurts’ job should be easier.

10- Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

Last season Jordan Love finally had the breakout we were all hoping for, especially in the second half. Head coach Matt LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutenkunst caught a lot of heat for their selection of Love in the 2020 draft while still having Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, with Rodgers gone and Love leading the squad, we can now say it was a good pick. Some of the throws Love made last season were unreal sidearm throws, off-the-back-foot lobs, and a dominating playoff performance in Dallas. Love has arrived.
