Hello, We currently were planning on visiting Hamilton Island for 4 days, but now I've been advised that Lady Eliot might be a better choice.

We have tried (!) to snorkel the GBR years ago, by taking a boat from Port Douglas. I got very, very sick and we didn't see that much. It was unfortunately bad timing as a cyclone had hit about a month earlier and I think visibility was still affected.

Anyway - no more long boat trips.

Will the water be too cool snorkeling off one of these islands (or any other recommended place) in June?

Any other ideas for snokeling the GBR that doesn't involve a long boat trip? Thank you!
