One of the reasons I found this song so healing is that it's that SHOCK of being dumped, those first few pheases where we can't even comprehend it, and all of our silly fights that were easily brushed aside now reached a new point where the other person has changed, their face stony saying things like they "need time", just to have us feel like our whole world has been pulled out from underneath us.
And we become defiant like "okay, fine go" and we are dying inside hoping they will regret and it's just silence until we accept it. My favorite part, in addition to the beautiful orchestrals is how the singer is growing more and more agitated as the song progresses, really emphasizing some of the words because godamn you can tell he's been in this subreddit once or twice!
It came out in 2000 by Matchbox 20 - the song is called "Leave'
