Dave stepped all over Sam on that but I can't bring myself to blame him. That squeal he does right after the goal...i felt that. An emotional release of joy and nerves in one moment, we're all there rn.

He’s also so much more reasonable than other homers like Jack Edwards. So many times (especially when he’s between the benches on msg) he’ll be like “yep definitely a penalty” or something super reasonable on something that goes against us.

Set up your TV to watch the game on TNT/ESPN, and mute audio.
Set up iPad/iPhone/Laptop to stream ESPN NY radio (98.7) on TuneIn app, iHeart radio, ESPN.com or on NHL app.
I use Bluetooth speaker for audio.
Use pause-play on radio stream if video is ahead of audio or use pause-play on TV stream if audio is ahead of video. Tricky, but priceless once you get it to work. Once synchronized do not pause either stream!!

Anything less than Sam is hard to listen to.
If it’s your TV that is ahead, and you have DVR - just pause the game until the audio stream lines up with the video. If it’s the audio that’s ahead, some of the suggestions below should help

I feel embarrassed learning now that apparently I could've been listening to the superior play-by-play coverage this whole time. Have they been doing this for every game thus far and broadcasting it via the radio or something? Anyone have more info as to how I can tune in for game number 4?
NHL app lets you listen to the rangers radio broadcast. Sam is filling in for Kenny Albert while he does games nationally (which he will be for game 4… not sure after that).
Depending on how deep we go, MSG Radio may give Sam the mic just so the 40 year vet can have the call.
Maybe, I think there is a level of respect to those guys though where Sam won't want to take the mic away from Kenny Albert, whos also been with them for a long time.
Keep in mind, there's a really good chance Kenny's on the national radio broadcast for THAT series. He's probably the best they've got. And while I hope he replaces Sam on MSG when Sam hangs it up, if ESPN is smart, they'll poach him now to replace McDonaugh.
Hearing Maloney scream “SCORE” before Sam is great. He said on post game show that there is nothing wrong cheering for your team on the radio. 🤣. Love it💙💙💙

spent the entire day working from 7AM (im a livery driver) and being in CT all day.listened to whole game thru air pods, OT started after i dropped off client and finally could listen in the car. was thinking i could get home in time to see some, then Sam said, '...missed by Orlov...' and Dave's shriek freaked me out.

This has been a big deal on NY sports radio . How Dave stepped on Sam . From an admittedly casual fan ( I start watching every game come the playoffs ) I think it’s great , it’s an organic , joyous moment . Sam was excited too . Dave is the guy next to you at the bar that loses their shit during a great moment . It’s not a podcast , it’s a great moment in a live event . By the way the people that had the greatest issue with it were the play by play guys ( looking at you Michael Kay )
