Warning: This page contains spoilers for the May 10, 2024, second game of Jeopardy! Masters — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. It will be updated alongside the Eastern Time airing of the show, beginning at about 8:30 PM Eastern.

This game’s Jeopardy! Masters contestants:

James Holzhauer, the self-described “final boss” of Jeopardy! from Las Vegas, Nevada (47-7, 5 points)
James Holzhauer in Jeopardy! Masters Season 2
Yogesh Raut, a cognitive & behavioral scientist from Vancouver, Washington (10-5, 7 points)
Yogesh Raut in Jeopardy! Masters Season 2
Victoria Groce, a writer & television personality from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (8-2, 9 points)
Victoria Groce in Jeopardy! Masters Season 2

Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:

The nightcap for this episode, between Victoria Groce, Yogesh Raut, and James Holzhauer, is being billed as a potential finals preview. All three of these players have been head-and-shoulders above Matt, Amy, and Mattea. Even though Victoria has clinched a spot in the semifinals, I don’t see her letting up whatsoever. I am very much hoping for a closely contested three-way match in this one.

It should be noted that if you’re in Canada, this match airs on CTV and not CTV2; depending on your PVR, you might have to set your PVR to record this one separately from the rest of the series.

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • My best read on tonight’s Final Jeopardy situation is that Victoria thought that both James and Yogesh were going to make small bets. That obviously did not happen.
  • Today’s box score will be linked to when posted by the show.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:

(Scores: Victoria $20,800 Yogesh $18,400 James $18,000)

Victoria: Standard cover bet over Yogesh is $16,001. (Actual bet: $3,200)

Yogesh: You’re in Stratton’s Dilemma; you can’t both cover James and win a Triple Stumper. James is probably more likely to make a small bet here from third, but your choices here in my eyes are either “cover James” (at least $17,601) or “force James to be right” ($399 or less). (Actual bet: $17,601)

James: Bet no more than $13,200 and hope for a Triple Stumper (and big bets from Yogesh and Victoria). (Actual bet: $3,268)

7 Comments on "Jeopardy! Masters Recap – Friday, May 10, 2024 (Game 2)"

  1. Can’t wait until we get to the semi finals. With how the tournament works we just go back to square one at that point and with who I think will be in the final four it’s going to be quite interesting.

  2. I believe we can already confirm matchups for Monday —

    Game 1: Victoria, James, Matt.

    Game 2: Yogesh, Amy, Mattea.

(The Yogesh-Amy pair has already faced Matt, James, and Victoria.)

    • Thanks, Matt.

I think this will also be the first Matt – Victoria match-up.

      • No, they faced each other (and Mattea) in Game 1.

Through the first eight games, the only pair of players who haven’t met is Mattea and Yogesh.

        • Thanks, how did I miss that? I tracked last year and this year the various combinations (apparently, not tracking accurately) and had through 8 games, no Mattea and Yogesh and incorrectly …

  3. Wow! What a game!

    • Sure was Nick-O and if we get these 3 in the 2 game Final, as many expect, we’re in for a treat! But, this is why they play the games!

I got FJ wrong, as I had no guess.
