Often criticized for their lack of success, the New York Knicks seem to have finally figured it out. Theyve just completed one of their most impressive regular seasons in their history and they are serious contenders in the Eastern Conference.

They put up a 50 burger in their record for the first time in over a decade, with Jalen Brunson as their leader. He finished fifth in the MVP voting and has put up great numbers with an average of 28.7 points on 48% shooting and 6.7 assists per game, all the previous are career bests.

With that said, there are some people that doubt they have what it takes to go all the way and one of them is Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green.

Green has called their season a "fluke" because he says that the Eastern Conference is less difficult to play in than the Western Conference and NBA experts do not agree.

Former NBA star and now ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins was very critical of Draymonds Green take after Stephen A. Smith said that understood where Green is coming for, even though he didnt believed it was a fluke.

Kendrick Perkins responded and defended the Knicks

Perkins has gained a lot of experience as a commentator after being on TV for many years after he retired.

Arguments and disagreements with other analysts are common on ESPNs First Take but this time he wanted to be clear on this matter.

"That's a lazy a** take by Draymond Green, let me say that first and foremost," Perkins said. And Stephen A. made on of those faces and Perkins went on.

"Because why call it a fluke? Why call it a fluke when looking at a team that was built the right way? When it comes down to the coaching, when we look at Leon Rose and World Wide Wes (William Wesley) going out there and hiring Tom Thibodeau, when we watching them go out there and sign Jalen Brunson, who one has been saying has been one of the best off-season signings probably in the last four or five years."

And Kendrick did not stop there when he said "so now all of a sudden you look at what they're doing right now, without their other All-Star in Julius Randle, and they're making waves - and they're only gonna continue to get better." Many agreed with him on social media.
