The highlight of our plunky process - The Movie Algorithm Project (MAP), an innovative 4th Gen. “Enjoyment Meter” which renders an easy to understand, personalized score on a 100-metric. I’m going to switch it up a little this year as we’re planning a MAP overhaul, that’s going to take some time. Pull up a chair and get your *Movie On!*

RIP Rutger Hauer 🙏🏻 His scene from this movie (Tears in the Rain) was unforgettable!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoAzpa1x7jU
And it was improvised
It was not made up on the spot.
I often wonder how many goes he had at it...
"I've seen an artificial dog licking his balls on the kitchen floor".... cut
"I've seen Priss scratching her arse at a 5 and dime"... cut
And that unfortunate take with the word "Dude..." anchoring every passage.
Roy Batty is one of the best screen antagonists of all time.
Masterpiece.
Best sciFi movie ever. Period.
Saw this in theater age 18
Is this the best version?
Most would probably say so. It includes scenes about the unicorn metaphor and other stuff. I don't remember but it might omit the voiceover.
This is one of those movies that is felt, rather than watched. It evokes a specific emotional response from the viewer, through its use of soundtrack and atmosphere. Absolutely brilliant film that digs at the philosophical roots of what it means to be human, and the value of life. Definitely a top 10 favorite film for me. I’ll rewatch it anytime I get the chance.
What a beautiful movie!
I’ve never seen this movie before. So I decided to rent it now on Apple TV ..I love when Ridley does sci fi..so it’s weird I’ve never heard of it..altho it is old, from the 80’s, so maybe that’s why I had t heard of it 🤷♂️ tx for the suggestion, it just started playing, and it looks amazing
Hot take: I think the original theatrical cut is the best one. In any case, this is a true masterpiece.
I still miss the Ford voice over dialogue, as hacky as it was.
The look of that film is so far ahead of its time.
My unpopular movie opinion - this movie was boring and entirely unengaging.
