At this flat tire workshop community members got to practice how to repair a flat bike tire. Owner of rolling 2 you mobile bicycle repair Frank DiSalvo says having information can help eliminate fear for bike riders.

“A lot of people who call me tend to have flat tires. This was just one way to share with them how to fix a flat. Hopefully people remembered. It’s really more scary than it is actually doing the process of it. It’s that ‘I don't know what to do, when I’m on the road and I have a flat tire’,” DiSalvo said.

DiSalvo also shared some of the resources available in the community for riders, like areas where people can fix their bikes.

“The library has tools that people don’t even know are there and exist. . . There are work stands that are outside that are free for the public to use. They have pumps. They have wrenches. They have tire changing tire levers leak center,” DiSalvo said.

DiSalvo has a passion for bikes, and says for anyone looking to get into cycling, to find something both affordable and comfortable.

“So, I would get a bike that you can afford, and one that you like because if you don’t like your bike and it’s not comfortable, you’re not going to ride it. Not everybody has to have the high expensive bike to be comfortable and enjoy riding. Then just ride wherever you want, but still follow the rules of the road,” DiSalvo said.
