Disqualified rider caught on unregistered ‘pocket bike’ after Kingston police chase

A man riding a reportedly riding a ‘pocket bike’ motorcycle has been arrested after he allegedly failed to stop for police.

The 24-year-old was riding the small motorbike on Redwood Road in Kingston around 1pm on Monday when he did not stop for officers, police said.

When he was eventually caught, the Chigwell man was found to be riding while disqualified on the unregistered bike.

He has since been arrested and charged with evading police and disqualified driving.

The motorcycle has been seized by authorities.

Police have taken the opportunity to remind riders that even smaller motorcycles require both a licence and registration to be ridden legally.

The man was scheduled to appear in an after-hours court on Monday.

It is not known how far the man had travelled on the small motorbike.
