Visited Lexington for first time recently. One of my favorite cities that I've been to.

Just wanted to let you folks know that your city is awesome!

Usually not a fan of cities in general, more of a country mouse. Dislike the traffic and noise and confusing routes and dickhead people and prices etc.... Been to many bigger cities all over the USA and mostly hate them all, hah.

Go to a lot of concerts which brings me to various cities and came to Lexington for Billy Strings a few weekends ago.

Everybody I met was super friendly, especially the local people at the concerts, and seemed pretty genuine.

We stayed in an AirBnb near Transylvania College and we hung out with some guy who lived in the apartments, just genuinely nice cool dude, you could tell he was a good dude because his big dog was super nice too.

We ate at restaurants and went to bars the whole time and they were all affordable and had good service.

I usually refuse to drive anywhere when staying in cities that I'm not familiar with, but it was super easy to drive around and the people did not drive like assholes. We drove to McConnell Springs park, which was very nice for being so near the city, and there was some event going on there where young people had owls and hawks and were super enthusiastic to tell me about them, and some old timers were playing some really good bluegrass music there. Seemed like there was bluegrass playing everywhere, and bluegrass is why I came there!

We walked home from the concerts both nights and it was completely uneventful, felt perfectly safe.

Have added Lexington, KY to the short list of cities that I really like along with Wilmington, NC, St. Augustine, FL, and Atlantic City, NJ (OK, I just like that place because you do not have to drive anywhere at all once you park and it's like a giant carnival on the ocean, I don't even gamble.)

I don’t think Wilmington gets the attention it deserves. And thank you for the nice comments about Lex!

Where are ya from ? If you don’t mind me asking

Western NY, pretty near Erie, PA and Buffalo.

Had been to Cincy many times, but had never been to Lexington. Have driven through KY several times, and it's beautiful. Only other time I stopped there was for the eclipse in 2016, southwest, maybe Mayfield or something?

2017. Hopkinsville. it's the one withe Kelly Green Goblins.

I love how everyone on here says they want to ban AirBNBs but then upvotes this dude. Feels like astroturf, given the timing.

Y’all come back now you hear

Thanks for the love! Lexington has its issues, but it's a pretty great town compared to others. We hope you come back soon! Let us know so we can recommend some more great places!

well i guess that’s interesting. been living here for 3 years now and i’ve always felt like there’s not much here.

There's a difference between living somewhere and just visiting though.

Lexington KY is one of the best kept secrets in the country. We are southern enough to know how to make folks welcome, and refined enough to know good wine, good bourbon, good food and raise smart kids. We are also proud of our fast horses and beautiful green space.  Come back anytime.  Lisa

Sssh! Now everyone will know and the city will not be the same.
