Aspirus Divine Savior Honors EMS Team

May 19-25 is National EMS Week

PORTAGE, Wis. – Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital & Clinics will celebrate National EMS Week May 19 – 25, honoring the emergency medical services personnel who provide life-saving care in our communities. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of National EMS Week with the theme, “Honoring Our Past, Forging Our Future.”

The Aspirus Divine Savior EMS program began in 1999 with EMT basics. Over time, it progressed to critical care paramedics, thanks to the guidance of hospital staff including Jan Bauman, chief nursing officer; Jim Swan, nurse practitioner; and Sharon Schwoegler, registered nurse.

Each year, Aspirus Divine Savior paramedics respond to approximately 2,500 911 calls and 650 critical transfers to higher-level care facilities. Aspirus Divine Savior invites everyone share their appreciation for our EMS practitioners who answer the call for help when it is most needed.
