She added: “I’m sad you will never get to meet my kids, hug me, talk to me or watch any other movies I make. I’m so heartbroken and miss you so much. I’m so lucky you were my Naunni. You raised the most perfect daughter that I’m lucky enough to call my mom which is my biggest gift in life.”

“You kept our family together and now I feel like we’re all lost without you. Please send me a sign that you’re close to me. And yes ‘I love you more‘ 🐇🩷,” she concluded, signing off with, “Love always, Your dolly, Nicky.”

The ice hockey player continued, “She was not only the happiest but one of my favorite souls I ever came across. She was the light that would brighten your day. Her heart was so big that you could feel it when she smiled, and in turn make you smile. May her soul rest in peace and in paradise in heaven. I love you Bunny.”

Nicola’s brother Will Peltz, 37, also shared a tribute.

“I’m writing this with a truly broken heart,” Will wrote. “Your love was one of a kind, your smile was infectious and lit up the entire world. Those lucky enough to be on the other side of that smile instantly fell in love with you, and you couldn’t blame them for that."

Calling her an angel, Will added, “I love you deeply and forever Rest in Paradise my bunny my naunni.”
