Sharon grew up in Nashville, attended and graduated from Two Rivers High School. She had a sweet disposition and a winning personality, which helped to make her a success in the business world. At retirement, she had been a buyer for SYSCO Nashville, food distributor and restaurant supplies, and Performance Food Group, a leading food distributor and supplier.
Sharon and Sue have been partners for forty-seven years and legally married for ten years. Together, they loved visiting the Smokey Mountains and visiting with family and friends. Sharon was a voracious reader and loved to cook. She was a loving spouse and an amazing caregiver to Sue. Her family says, “She was a very stable presence – a solid rock in our lives.” Sharon was a “sweetheart” to everyone and was extremely giving. She would lend a hand to whomever needed it and never expected anything in return. She loved well . . . was well-loved . . . and will be sorely missed.
Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Milton Edward Miller; and her mother, Annie Josephine (Perkins) Miller. She is survived by her loving partner of forty-seven years, Virginia Sue Lavender; son, Charles Robert Lavender (Doris Ann); daughter, Shelby Darlene Lavender Richardson (Bill); daughter, Julie Gail Lavender McCalla (Scott); son, Walter Thomas Lavender (Tammie); grandchildren Sandra, Stephanie, Michael, Aaron, David, Bryan, Kyle, Tommy, Zachary, Greg; great grandchildren Caroline, Alexxis, Landon, Zoe, Tatyana, Connor, Marina, Ethan, Noah; and sisters, Teresa Dennis and Lynn Thomasson.
