So Raidbots doesn’t sim my holy priest, so I can’t sim her to help select gear from the vault. I’m not sure that Mr Robot takes vault drops into account when I ask it to select my best gear from my bags, but I do know that it’s telling me to replace my 502 trinket, which is BiS according to multiple sources, with my 476 trinket so I’m not even sure that it’s reliable at all.

Is there any other source to turn to?

Yeah. Don’t trust Mr. Robot. I used to use it all the time but I experienced the same thing you did.

I typically look at what the top performers are using on Archon and try to mimic them. Its predecessor (subcreation) was better, but it’s the best we have now.

Warcraftlogs also has a tool that lets you see what % of top players are using which trinkets and talents

raidbots does if you use the simulationcraft addon… you have your vault open when you type in /simc and then go to top gear and you can choose from all your vault choices.

OP is playing a holy priest and Raidbots/Simulationcraft is only simmed as DPS; doesn’t have an option for healers and tanks.

For DPS I use both AskMrRobot (as it’s very fast) but RaidBots is more accurate (for DPS).

I still use AskMrRobot for tanks/heals, but as noted sometimes it’s recommendations are a bit puzzling. BiS recommendations are usually optimized for ALL your other gear also being BiS. It might be that with your current gear, the 476 trinket provides the best healing throughput over the 502 (eventual BIS) trinket.

I still think it’s useful for a quick-look, but for raid healing, I would look at the Warcraft Logs (now also owned by Archon) and compare yourself against other priests at your gear level. Logs for M+ are not as useful (parse info is not nearly as detailed as it is for raid parsing).

I have two ret pallies and one is more geared than the other… their Raidbots Sims for best trinket Bullion purchases end up being unique (I expected them to be identical) because their stat distributions are quite different between the two character builds. AskMrRobot and RaidBots are both looking at your current gear and giving the best recommendation based on that gear. Textbook BIS recommendations have no clue what your current gear is and are based on you have ALL BiS in every slot, which can sometimes explain puzzling recommendations (although there’s always a chance a prediction assumption in one sim or another is just wrong).

For what it’s worth I’ve started using Archon/Murlok io just to see what is the next best for me.

This is for anyone who reads this NEVER NEVER NEVER use AMR. EVER. This is your friendly PSA

For healers you should generally trust questionablyepic
