New Dandy convenience store proposed for Geneva

A new Dandy convenience store is proposed to replace the Castle Road Mini Mart at the intersection of county roads 4 and 6. The Pennsylvania-based chain plans to build a 4,500-square-foot store, including a café offering pizza, wings, subs, and coffee.

The developers will present their project at the town Planning Board meeting on May 21 at 6 p.m. in Town Hall. The Finger Lakes Times reports initial feedback from the Ontario County Planning Board raised concerns about the store’s proximity to a Seneca Native American burial ground and the proposed entrance’s closeness to the busy intersection on County Road 6, which does not meet state Department of Transportation standards.

Dandy, founded in 1983, operates over 60 stores in Pennsylvania and New York, known for their large format and extensive food service offerings. A Dandy spokesperson said the company will provide more details in the future.
