LeBron James' Former Teammate Makes One Retirement Wish For Lakers Star
At 39 years old, LeBron James doesn't have much time left in the NBA. That is why his former Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers teammate Channing Frye wants to see him retire in the most beautiful way possible.
LeBron returned to Cleveland on Monday to watch the Cavs' Game 4 against the Boston Celtics. His attendance sparked discussions about his potential return to Ohio, something that Frye admitted he wishes to see.
According to Frye, James returning to the Cavs and ending his career there would be a storybook ending for the NBA great and sure-fire Hall of Famer.
"I'd love to see it... His impact on the city is craziness," Frye shared on NBA on TNT.
James' future with the Lakers is unknown since he has a player option for the 2024-25 season. While the Purple and Gold want to keep him, nothing is certain until he makes his decision on his contract.
With that being said, there's definitely a possibility that he returns to Cleveland--albeit a long shot. But if James does end up deciding to go home for the third and likely final time in his career, he'll surely be welcomed like a hero as Frye said.
For now, though, the NBA world can only wait and see what James does.
