And yet 53 year old Sean Connery looks younger in NSNA 🤔
Ya but once Connery went Silver Fox in his 60s he looked better
Except he wore a toupee though.
No even bald Connery in Indiana Jones and other movies looked good
So did Roger Moore
I'm still convinced the biggest Bond change was Craig between Quantum of Solace and Skyfall. I feel like he loses a lot of his energy by that point, and gets significantly more dry.
Sean Connery always looked a lot older than he actually was, imo. I was shocked when I first discovered he was only about 31 or 32 in Dr No. He was dapper as hell, but I'd always assumed he was middle aged when he started playing Bond 😆
He had a hard milk round as they say up here.
avtak was as close to an old hand bond we were allowed to have and man moore was looking old that said Keyanu Reeves is now older than Moore and still does action movies so look how times change
The criticism of Moore’s age always felt… selective? I don’t see the same criticism happening if Connery had done a Bond in the 90s & many Brosnan fans would love to see him return (as many Craig fans would love to see him return).
He’s Bond, he is formidable even when he’s older.
moore did look pretty old in AVTAK, the movie kind of makes a point to say "This is a veteran bond"
the thing was moore kept himself looking good throughout the 70s and early 80s but in his 60s he started going down hill
No. No, he most definitely does not.
No way. Roger looked ancient in AVTK, heck he already looked too old by the time Octopussy came out.
Connery looks old in DAF but at least he looks like in his late 40's/early 50's. Roger looked closer to mid-60's in AVTK.
I will say however that Roger did look really young, much younger than his real age, by the time he started his tenure with LALD. When I read that he was actually older than Sean, my mind was blown!
But LALD Roger looks definitely younger than DAF Sean despite being 4 years older there.
That's what I said.
I love Moore and I love Moonraker, but he was looking very leathery by the time he made that movie
On the basis that all Bonds get one movie where they're past their sell-by date, that should probably have been his final outing
You make a good point although personally? Octopussy is my favorite out of Roger's tenure so that would've been a better ending for me.
Back in the day a lot of people said Roger still looked good for his age. That’s before we started getting all these wrinkle-free 57-year-olds that haven’t abused their bodies by smoking or not wearing sunscreen (it makes a huge difference).
Roger Moore's AVTAK bug eyes beg to differ.
tickling the tchaikovsky keeps you looking young. Or so I've heard.
Yep. Just one of the reasons that Diamonds Forever will forever hold the bottom spot on my list.
But it had Plenty O'Toole .
Named after your father no doubt
It’s also too much fun watching Connery in peak “party boy” mode having a laugh on the company dime.
Connery was rich, famous and handsome during the Swinging Sixties. No wonder he aged so much.
Depends whether you mean absolutely or relatively. Absolutely probably not, but relatively, i.e. in comparison to his own actual age, yes (Roger looks more or less 60 in AVTAK, Sean 50, so despite younger absolute age it makes him relatively older). DAF and LALD would make a better comparison, 45 years old Roger looks really younger than 41 y. o. Sean.
If you close your eyes in every closeup shot, maybe.
The weird-looking facelift/mole removal for AVTAK did not do Moore any favors.
I will agree he generally looked younger than his age for most of his run, and aged better than Connery - but in all the 80s films, Moore looked too old for Bond.
He looked mortifying in AVTAK
No he doesn't lol
