Milwaukee's cheesesteak-lovers and Carolina hiking enthusiasts have a new way to travel directly to the sources.

That's because new nonstop flights to Philadelphia and Raleigh-Durham started Thursday at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. The Frontier Airlines flights run three times a week and are offered, initially, quite cheaply.

“We’re thrilled to launch these two new routes and provide consumers in the greater Milwaukee area with additional ultra-low-cost flight options,’” said Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design at Frontier Airlines, in a Thursday news release.

To promote the new routes, the budget airlines is offering promotional rates through May 31. Frontier's fares begin at $19 one-way. Various conditions apply to the promotional offer and details can be found at Frontier's website.

The routes were announced in early February.

The new routes join other nonstop Frontier routes from Mitchell, including Denver, Fort Myers, Las Vegas, and Orlando.

The routes also join other recent new flight announcements by the airport. On May 1, Milwaukee airport officials said Spirit Airlines would begin offering seasonal flights to Dallas.
