The Chinese embassy in London, on the other hand, responded with such audacity that it said, "These are completely fabricated and malicious slanders. And called for an 'end to the 'anti-China political farce' in the UK.''

I want to introduce Masahiro Miyazaki, who wrote about this matter in his newsletter after the holidays.

A lot of data was stolen from Western countries and sent to China.
Hackers and fake damage not only in UK and France but also in Moldova
********************
It is not only Japan, the USA, and Taiwan.
A large amount of data has been stolen from major European countries due to Chinese hacker attacks, as well as election intervention through fake attacks on politicians.
In the UK, Deputy Prime Minister Dowden addressed the House of Commons and said, "China is responsible for the cyber attacks on MPs and state elected officials that were leaked to the press. The UK finds these actions demonstrate a clear and sustained pattern of Chinese hostility".
Specifically, it concluded that it was "very likely" that the UK Electoral Commission's systems were "compromised" by Chinese-affiliated cyber organizations in 2021 and the following year.
The names and addresses of approximately 40 million British voters were in the hands of Chinese government hackers "very likely to be used by Chinese intelligence agencies for purposes such as large-scale espionage and intimidation of those deemed dissidents or critics in the UK," the officials said.

On May 6, 2024, Xi Jinping visited Paris and made a honeymoon with Macron.
French lawmakers objected to this and became the target of a cyber attack by APT31, a Chinese hacker unit.
The seven Franc MPs called for a judicial investigation.
It comes after the U.S. Department of Justice indicted Chinese hackers with ties to the Ministry of National Security, a state spy agency, in March for committing criminal acts in France.

According to the U.S. indictment, the hackers "sent over 1,000 emails to more than 400 unique accounts of individuals associated with IPAC in 2021 to collect data about Internet activity and digital devices.
The targets of the attacks included former Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt, British European Minister Nusrat Gani, and Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky".

Senator Olivier Caddick (France) criticized the continuation of "such cyber-attack activity against the elected representatives of the French people.
On May 7, the UK Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced that tens of thousands of soldiers' personal information had been compromised in a cyberattack believed to have been perpetrated by China.
The attack targeted the MoD's payroll system operated by a contractor and included current and former military personnel's names and bank account details.
All but the British Special Forces were affected, bringing the affected personnel to 270,000.
Defense Secretary Grant Shapps did not directly condemn the Chinese attack.

John Healy, Shadow Defense Secretary, named IT giant Sopra Steria as the parent company of the hacked software.
Its subsidiary, SSCL, provides payroll, personnel, and pension services for 230,000 military personnel and 2 million veterans in the reserves.
As Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Senator Kearns said, "China is the 'enemy' of the United Kingdom.
Kearns continued.
The Chinese Communist Party is responsible for hacking into our armed forces, cyber-attacking our electoral commissions, and cyber-attacking members of the British and French parliaments.
The Chinese embassy in London, on the other hand, responded with such audacity that it said, "These are completely fabricated and malicious slanders. And called for an 'end to the 'anti-China political farce' in the UK.''

An avalanche of Ukrainian refugees has swept into Moldova. Plus:
For Moldova, Russian hacker attacks and fake information are a daily reality.
Located on the border with Ukraine, the country has a large Russian-speaking population and an influx of Ukrainian refugees via Odesa (I digress; I also took a bus from the Moldovan capital of Kishinew to Odesa. The fare was about 1,000 yen, and it would generally take about two hours to get there, but it takes about two hours to cross the border because the route avoids the "Republic of Primorskiy Dniestr." (I left at 10:00 a.m. and arrived at my hotel in Odessa after 3:00 p.m.).

Moldova will hold presidential elections and a referendum on its membership in the European Union in October.
About 60 percent of Moldovans are anti-Russian and favor closer ties with the West.
However, Russian soldiers remain in an unrecognized state within Moldova, the Republic of Primorskiy Dniestr.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Ministry of State Security, which believes that "offense is the best defense," warned Chinese nationals stationed abroad to beware of "friendly" persons who "approach in various ways, gather information, and serve as lookouts for overseas personnel.
Some expatriate Chinese, after falling into the trap, "may become a threat to national security by failing to exercise caution and divulging state secrets, being coerced into betraying national interests, or willingly becoming accomplices of foreign intelligence agencies."
Chinese national security authorities have called on Chinese nationals stationed abroad for long periods to "maintain a calm and rational attitude in their interactions with others to avoid risks.
China has amended its anti-spying law, effective July 1, 2023.

May 8.
Looking at the current situation of China's horrendous cyber attacks on the UK, we have to accept that we are in a state of war.
Such statements attract attention in the UK, but the Japanese should know that Japan is in the same situation.
