He finds Drake Bell there, who can hardly speak after Brendan Fraser's death. He didn't have the strength to sign into the matches. Kyle tries to motivate him, but Drake just tells him his story of living in debt and trying to get his bro out of it once he finally climbs out. But it was all for naught as he ended in just another nightmare. Kyle apologizes and leaves.

Kyle Hyde was a former Policeman investigating a criminal organization known as "Nile" with his partner Brian Bradley. Eventually Kyle discovers Brian is going to betray the police for the organization and shoots him. Afterwards he leaves the Police Force and becomes a salesman for a company called "Red Crown", meanwhile Kyle searches for Bradley as he is sure he survived their encounter.

In the past he was ordered to take a package to TFR, meanwhile, Kyle has reasons to believe one of the wrestler could have information about Bradley's whereabouts and decides into a rush to pose as wrestler to extract the info in the ring.

When Wright confesses that he did it all for the sake of Sminem's plan to get closer to Kojima, and that while he can't be redeemed, he appoints a Triple Threat of Kyle, Saihara, Nero, Adachi, Edgeworth, and Himself.
However, a shot still has to be put on, and Phoenix took his chance to win, lamenting the title wasn't left out of his hands.

He was called for an important wrestling conference regarding the recent events with Kojima, but instead ended up trapped in La Parka II's DEATH GAME. However, not giving up, Kyle has taken it into his own hands to discover the secrets of this twisted torture and escape with his friends, before it's too late.

All candidates were subjected to a surprise vote, where he received 2 votes. The vote concluded with HUNK being instantly sentenced to the wild ride via Majority Vote.

Episode 4
Everyone is called to the main room to once again face the skeleton in the screen. Today he informs the theme is "friendship".
Saihara notices an old man in a wheelchair, but everyone discards it being the mastermind since he's deaf and blind.
Saihara consults with the other mystery masters, but neither have found anything. They conclude that any clue left behind will be intentional, and before they go to the ring to fight each other, Tohya makes them promise to not die. Saihara assures he will not lose this game.
All the Mystery Masters are put one against another. Wright wins, and gets the Immunity.
Gets to play a special card game game before the vote, and draws the Nothing card.
Saihara is placed in the Main Vote, receiving 7 votes. A tie-breaker is held. Via Minority Vote, Doomguy, Undercarder, and Reviewbrah are sentenced to the wild ride.

La Parka explains the concept of dolls, and how they will be facing them.
Kyle investigates an a computer tells him to press a button in the conference room. There, he finds Tohya who promptly leaves, and then presses the button after considering for a while. La Parka tells him that he's in a poll now, too bad.
Saihara finds Wright muttering to himself, and both conclude that the situation is hopeless unless something happens, but something is weird with the "guest" wrestlers.
Saihara is placed in the Main Vote, receiving 3 votes. Via Majority Vote, Samoa Joe, Hachijo Tohya, James Sunderland, Patrick Bateman, and Walter are sentenced to the wild ride.
Episode 8
La Parka congratulates them for getting rid of all 5 of the hidden dolls between the participants, but doesn't disclose who they were. When Postal Dude's doll shows up, they remember that they had all signed his petition before the conference began, and La Parka reveals that it was indeed that how they unknowingly agreed to participate in the death game.
Saihara and Kyle have to defeat Char Aznable and Amuro Ray. They win and get Immunity.
The Mystery Masters mourn the death of Tohya, since they were not able to keep his promise. Saihara can't accept death no matter how many of these games he goes thorough, and promises that even beyond the grave, this game will end. Then, Edgeworth walks in and reminds everyone not to give up investigating, and goes his way to keep his investigation going.
By interrogating Mr. X, Edgeworth finds out that Tommy Wiseau is actually Edward Richtofen, and Mr. X uses the stone to "shut down" the game.

They are safe from the executions.

Before the discussion can start, Mr. America blasts off about Samoa Joe. Hyde actually agrees, because, in this game, he had both of his arms. As Saihara points out, the real Joe had a bionic arm installed. Edgeworth then points out that the next most likely clones are those coming from the other company, James Sunderland and Patrick Bateman, for the fact that they showing up at all is suspicious and they don't have enough time to consider everyone. Drake then remembers something, seeing a child carrying someone in the room with all the corpses, and Majima adds that the kid was Alice, and the one she was carrying was Walter. Before Saihara can discuss the final doll, time is up and La Parka announces that that tony guy, Bane and Kyle are up to answer. Bane and Tony get the last person wrong and have to fight, but Kyle had thought of taking a risk and then an idea comes to mind: the person who was in the room with the button must have been a traitor, meaning Hachijo Tohya was a doll. La Parka announces the correct answer, but Kyle asks where the real versions of the dolls are, and La Parka decides to answer this once: wherever.
After BANS' victory, Kyle is made to participate in The Final Rumble, he's the fourht death, eliminated by Mr. America.

While walking backstage, Kyle finds a body, a lifeless body laying on the floor, a man's corpse. The man, was none other than TFR's CEO Sminem. He contacts Phoenix Wright, to inform of the tragedy...
Episode 8
Kyle Hyde met him backstage after finding the body and calling the last dialed number without knowing who else to inform it to. Wright couldn't believe it at first, but Kyle thinks it really puts into perspective how fragile life is.
Kyle notices his "penchant" for wrestling and hopes he can honor him by putting great matches in his honor, and Wright swears to finish the job he started on the investigation.
Episode 9
Kyle contacts Wright, commenting that Coolsville is taking a dark turn and the police are on the move everywhere. Wright tells him that stuff has been going in TFR too, and Kyle has a lead he needs to confirm about TFR's behind-the-scenes operations, ending the call with both agreeing to keep looking on their end.
Episode 10
The Eden of Coolsville suddenly catches on fire, and many people gather around it amidst the chaos of rushing policemen and escaping staff. Kyle Hyde is in front of Chuck's while on the phone with his boss about the possible perpetrator, and laments he won't be able to help Wright without the info once the call ends. Officer Suou tries to control the situation and wonders where Ooishi could have gone and why he hasn't alerted the firefighters, while Extra considers letting his dream burn out before Walter cheers him up and Date cries in despair at the burning material. Chris Redfield arrives and pissed off by the fire, doesn't sit idly and breaks into the burning hellscape.
Seeing Chris, Kyle got emboldened to also enter, quickly regretting it but pushing on nonetheless. Finding nothing on Chuck's office, he finds a very well hidden secret door and crosses an additional total of 6 doors before reaching what he was looking for.
Episode 12
Wright and Saihara enter the GM Office, surprising Vitalik who says that for disrupting the GM's work he could put them back on the streets that Wright's hobosuit is so fond of, but Kyle arrives with all the match-fixing and money laundering evidence he found at Chuck's, which makes Vitalik nervous and he calls his recently hired security, VECTOR and Ghost, to take care of them.
Wright's group falls before the trained guards, and Vitalik announces the release of the wrestlers... until Sminem himself arrives, just like he and Kyle had plotted. Sminem congratulates them on their investigation and fires Vitalik... or that's what would have happened if he hadn't made his contract iron-clad. With no other option, Sminem decides to take TFR itself to court. Wright is worried about the lack of evidence, until he receives a call from just who he wanted, Wrong, telling him to come to the Coolsville Volcano. Wright tells them his friends that he has to put an end to something... by himself.

Gathered in the prosecution's lobby, Sminem's team lies in wait for the court to begin. Everyone readies, but Sminem reminds them to not get their guard down for Vitalik's tricks.
Nevertheless, Kyle is confident and thanks Wright for gathering the evidence, but Wright would've rather have pinned Vitalik in Loser Leaves Town match instead. Sminem too is concerned Vitalik always hides behind schemes, but even as far as suing their own company, it's what must be done, for TFR...
All in the name of guiding humanity down the right path
Then, Edgeworth appears to inform that the trial is about to begin. As Wright puts it, "Let's go, minna! To save wrestling!".
Court is now in session, presided by The MMMighty Judge, using the badass fast-paced initial trial system because he has a meeting with his biker friends. Vitalik asks from the Witness Stand to wait while his defense makes its way late, making Wright wonder if he has something up his sleeve... and indeed, he shocks everyone as he has hired the legendary undefeated defense attorney: Lawyer 47, who apologized for the lateness as some RED-HAIRED FAGGOT got his suit dirty.
The prosecution makes their opening statement: Vitalik has mismanaged the company from health issues to match fixing, and presents evidence proving the connection between TFR staff and the late Chuck's Suck & Fuck; 47 quickly discards it on the basis that "it cannot be read because reading is for homos", a formidable move that the Judge allows while looking uninterested and all of Sminem's team acknowledges as a difficult challenge. Next, the defense makes a statement of their own, "all of the prosecution's evidence is fake and gay, fabricated even, and no real evidence will be heard against his client as Vitalik and TFR have done literally nothing wrong, and Chuck's is a gay den of lies."
Edgeworth presents a decisive piece of evidence—a photo proving a match which had a different outcome than officially acknowledged after the lights of the arena suddenly turn off (that's ground for gimmmmmick infringemmmmmmment). But unluckily 47's glasses are too fucking blurry to see anything and he rips the image in half. Also, 47 would like to add one thing: no hat-wearing attorneys have been left mentally retarded due to TFR as they employ the amazing Dr. Piccolo, or at least that would be if he wasn't such a fucking traitor like the rest of the people in this room.
Sminem's team hangs on to the last string of hope after such demolishing defense...
At last, the prosecution presents its most finishing piece of evidence, years upon years of company records that help detail Vitalik's scheme with other parties such as the mafia and even the president, gathered by a staff member risking his own well-being—Amami Rantaro. It picks the judge's interest but hears the defense's rebuttal first: Zzzzsnore. The decision is clear and the evidence doesn't change anything, disappointing Piccolo, Janny, and Amami, as they've met with a move worthy of an Ultimate Lawyer.
With time at its limit, Edgeworth desperately looks for the missing piece to the puzzle that is such an impenetrable defense. his assistant Therapist affirms he must be on the right track, the defense's posture can only mean one thing, and that's that it's bluffing. If he can pinpoint his confidence's source, he can defeat it, and that's when Edgeworth notices it by using his father's glasses, his achilles' heel: his perfect bald. By distracting the judge by way of retreading on his father's lengthy medical records, he also annoys the defense into going into a rant, and uses the opportunity to steal Payne's wig and throw it onto 47's head; instantly, his focus, confidence and charisma are crushed before he can stop talking.
Because, like the legend he is, the Judge... Judge NEVER DREW A DIME!
A pure strike is delivered, and the judge finally sees through the defense's lies, sentencing the attorney to wrestler's court after the trial is over. In light of these events, the verdict is set, and the court declares TheFinalRumble... GUILTY. But Vitalik's conviction would come with a price, as TFR is closed down... for a while at least, until the place is confirmed free of corruption (and delivers 100000 bottles of jack to court). Additionally, the TFR title will be permanently retired, as well as all other titles vacated, but it was all a calculated part of the risk; as Sminem puts it, roster members will leave for indies or maybe nowhere and budget will go down, but wrestling will survive, and they'll be back sooner than they know it... with the trial over, all that's left is looking ahead.
To celebrate, Sminem acknowledges Wright's intense passion and his heart is always with the sport, and that's why he's next in line to become the GM and have the trust of rebuilding TFR put into him, as well as trusting all of them to help make TFR better in their own way; Saihara is happy about Wright, for Kyle its just a job, and Edgeworth is too busy taking care of his father (who disappeared somewhere again) to wrestle. Kyle is going to take a drink, Saihara has a certain meeting to attend, and Sminem will be doing paperwork, but Wright wants to go to the arena for the last time in a while to say goodbye, or better yet, <See you again>.

Participates in unsanctioned matches while TFR is closed.
With the war against Amon Elite Wrestling nearing its end, a rumble is held to determine who will challenge the Amon's secret weapon.
After Kyle wins, he has to face the most dangerous of Amon's recent recruits: Amon Phoenix. After his defeat, when everything seemed lost... Amon Phoenix reveals himself to be none other than Phoenix Wright, surprising everybody as TFR now stands victorious. In the end, the war is won and AEW is rejected from establishing itself on Coolsville.

For helping Wright and Sminem with their investigation, Kyle is welcomed into The Mystery Masters.

Participates in the TFR Championship Return Tournament.
Defeats the hunter of chaos and challenges the masked killer Jacket. With an opponent that strong, he unleashes his secret technique as the only way to victory.
When meeting the "Frayer" Ryuki, he kept dishing out The Last Shot but it wasn't working, until Ryuki was distracted right before doing his third Frayer Dive, and the 8th shot had him submit.
In the finals, Kyle is reminded of his last time on an ironman, and takes a metal-strong defensive position, decided that he'd rather receive no pins than inflict any. But as the match goes on, he overcomes himself, and decides to start racking pins to redeem himself. Payne is overcome and defeated, and Kyle is next in line at the title shot.
Episode 34: Great Balls of Fire[edit | edit source]
A deep psychological match for the TFR title, as much as Kyle struggled and denied Pegasus' specials, a single Die For Me ended Hyde, showing it was no struggle at all.
The Extinct Light[edit | edit source]
Since the incident at the end of the tournament, TFR has been in a continued declines thanks to the rumors born from the partial reveal of the management's schemes, yet he himself still remains instead of jumping to AEW like the rest, something he both finds comedy-worthy and dryly depressing.
Episode 1
While taking a bourbon at the Survive Bar, Date Kaname arrives, so he informs him Survive's Bartender has left to run errands. Date wonders why Kyle is still with TFR when he must've gotten an offer by now, but Kyle still has obligations to TFR, and to not worry since he's just fine. Date tries to pursue further, but Aiba remembers this isn't an investigation and he eases up. Kiryu Kazuma then enters the bar, whom Date hasn't seen in a while, but seems like he's been dragged to this city again by now; Kiryu knows some people involved in the company but hasn't checked it out yet, and asks Date if things are as well there as people seem to say, with Date agreeing it is save from a few issues arising from the company being so new. With TFR being in such bad shape, Date and Kiryu wonder if it can ever recover from the reveal of the schemes management were plotting, but at least they shut them down. After silently observing the conversation for a while, Kyle is done with his drink, so he gets up and leaves, apologizing for not continuing with the conversation.
Episode 2
"The Mystery Master" Kyle Hyde participates in the Berserk Brawl tournament in Pool D.
In an encounter backstage, "The Sadistic Thug" V begins taunting Kyle about how since he fucked up, put BCW out and got his friends arrested, business has been booming for them. Kyle doesn't wanna waste his time on third-rate thugs since his days back in the force, which makes V want to make him bleed more to the point he could kill him right now, but having already fought someone twice his size and on some fucked up drugs, Kyle isn't afraid; this works in V's favor as he no longer wants to finish it quickly, but rather turn it into one of his full works. And that Bucky Beaver Bastard better not cut the feed, because this one he'll put into a tape for himself.
And despite Kyle attempt to resist such brutality, once again his last shot at winning doesn't reach.
Episode 7
As Kyle continues drinking in the Survive Bar with TFR on the TV, the last few moments catch his attention when things seem to get chaotic. Then, an announcement by Saten...
My salutations to "those" watching all around the world!
You may one day be able to say you were fortunate enough to witness a "historical" moment live.
Because with one swift "move"... We have once again exposed how "fragile" TFR really is.
We have seized complete "control", and blown past all of their "security" effortlessly.

He can only watch as it keeps tumbling down, the last thing TFR needed at this moment. There'll be a big mess to clean up, if anything is even left by then. But even still... he can't let it all go...

Non-Canon As Wright announces, the latest updates for the Batch 4 Draft are here, and so is GM Drake to tell about the choices he made! But before he can get to explain, Drake has to leave because someone came forward and they didn't want to participate anymore in this draft, taking #62 back. So, without further ado, let's get the video package for Pick #61, coming from BCW, the "Starway to Stardom" competitor, The Ultimate Underdog, AKA, "The Little Guy", Saihara Kyle!
The situation keeps worsening, as Kyle explains, and part of the show even had to close. The uprising going on... it's caused by a mysterious group, NXT. Crime rate in all of Coolsville has increased. Even Date was almost killed! And not by a rogue wrestler like Bevi believes, but an ordinary citizen. Even Rance is perplexed, but Date's investigation reveals he suffered from... Markiplier Disease. Kyle sums up four of the most notorious NXT members involved they are looking for: Mark Maximus, Chubby Chwan, Boogie Woogie Wu, and Ricky Cumshotta(which Date denies having met in a strip club at all); Bevi reminds him Kwame Da Kuma and Johnny Squishmaiden are also involved, but as Kyle puts it, there's even more people to take care off, but as a group there's only so much they can handle at a time, and besides, taking the top brass will slow them down considerably. |

Even after everything that happened, even after having a key role in it, Kyle still can't believe the current state of things, the bleakness hiding behind the lights, and that people he had placed his trust in did the things they did. In spite of everything... Kyle keeps silently walking forward.
Episode 1[edit | edit source]
Trying to walk aimlessly around Coolsville to put the mind at ease, he still ends up in no other place than the Survive Bar, ordering the same bourbon as always. "Drinking early might be bad for the liver, but it's good for the soul, and no organ receives as much torment as time is doing to his spirit.", he rationalizes.
He asks The Bartender for the newspaper to look at the latest information, as is common for one of his career...
>Another murder, a brutal one at that, of a wrestler. Darren Young. Obscure midcard wrestler. Only data of note is a rumor of "assaulting" the "American Dragon" in the summer of 2010, allegedly made up by a guy who fled the psych ward.
>"OMW star paralyzed after risky maneuver goes wrong.", just another day trying to make ends meet in the indies.
>"New Captain Soap photoshoot sparks debate: Is it a girly magazine?". Afraid not.
>"Confirmed: Gas Chamber's next concert to take place at the home of the Coolsville Suckers football team."
A slow day for news in Coolsville's usual hustle. The Bartender mentions he too had to deal with his fair share of chaos, it's even odd to think about sometimes. Kyle takes another drink, when he gets an odd call... the TFR Board of Directors's representative. With such a rare occasion, he tells them to skip to the part where they fire him, but... they actually ask for his collaboration in helping TFR as a whole (which reminded him of the shady way Wright ran things), and want to talk more details in person. Since he needs to pay the bills (including the current drink), he ignores the bad feeling this gives him and decides to leave the only friend he can trust (whiskey) behind and go while The Bartender saves his bottle.
Lighting a cigarette, Kyle thinks back on the Board of Directors: as far as he knows, they're just a bunch of stooges, yesmen given undeserved and unworked-for power, brainless and incompetent suits. He doesn't know what business they have with him, but he needs anything that can lead to answers, ever since the unforgettable day; the day TFR took down BCW and was exposed in a still-unclear conspiracy... wrestling's landscape changed forever. The frustrated ones were led by Nero and funded by the Okonogis. The indifferent ones stayed and sat on their contracts, turning a blind eye to the decline of the chain of command. Then there's those left behind, not finding a place anywhere and thrown like trash, resorting from gigs at HS gyms to the internet and even turning to crime. Conveniently, the Coolsville underworld also suffered a power-vacuum that Mafia City filled under the rule of The Grandfather and V, and their influence had embedded members in Coolsville's most important organizations. The spiraling down can be traced to the actions of a man... Phoenix Wright. Not only that day continues to haunt him, but Kyle's own inability to understand the whole picture of what's happening and why.
In the conference room, as expected are some of the Board's members waiting for him. "TFR and wrestling are in danger", they chant like a mantra, and the latest attack has pushed them to take desperate measures and move ahead with an unfinished concept, which of Kyle is the man they want to implement it. Confused at the prospect, Kyle puts down that he doesn't have anything to do with this, and struggling through words even says he cares not about TFR's future, making the member of the Board shocked at such statement by a member of the Mystery Masters personally chosen and welcomed by Sminem and Wright, figures who would certainly know how to save the day. This event makes Kyle reminisce of an exchange he had with Wright, where he commented on a stack of papers he was carrying related to a big goal he had been working on in secret. As the last Mystery Master since Saihara disappeared, the members of the board had him pinned as the only one able to carry this out because he should be able to understand Wright, and in fact offer him the position of new Head of Talent Relations since Central isn't fully able since the attack, which only makes Kyle doubt if now that one of the few staff members he respected are gone more people could suffer fates like him. Even if he doubts it is his burden to carry, while having too much to deal with already by himself, and in spite of thinking he could be getting set up, Kyle begrudgingly gives in but sets his foot down about never bending over outrageous requests. The board rejoice as it finally brings up the plan they'll be giving to him: "Tough Enough", Wright's own pet project. The mere suggestions embedded in those words are enough to quickly set him alight; are they taking him for a clown? Kyle, of all people, do him a favor by carrying this forward? In rage, Kyle gets up and slams the table, scaring members of the board, before taking a moment to regain his composure and quickly sign the papers before walking away with the highly-organized design documents.
As he walks away from the arena, Kyle ponders about his relationship with Wright... he wishes he understood him as well as everyone thinks, but it couldn't be further from the truth. The lack of understanding... it hurts, but that's why he decided to carry out his project in the end, to learn his thoughts when he did the things he did. Maybe... he's being delusionally hopeful, but he'll allow himself to believe again, in this one thing. He needs to.
With that done with, Kyle decides to grab dinner when he receives a message from Ja/ck/...
Kyle! I need your help, man! Someone is brutalizing my restaurant. It's a dangerous gangster! Can you come over, fast?!
Initially thinking Ja/ck/'s Dinner is being targeted by Mafia City, it's instead a group called the "Blacklist Brotherhood", a small group who has nothing left to lose, and the man attacking is... Gene. Kyle couldn't believe it at first, but after being discarded by the industry, Gene says there's nothing left but stick to what you know and repay those who extend their hand. Kyle remarks that for "sticking to what he knows", he isn't seeing him getting pinned on the floor, which makes Gene happy since now he gets to kick "that asshole that cost a bunch of people their jobs" and his ass into the milky way. Surprisingly, Gene actually beats Kyle's ass, and for that makes a true promise to make his friend's life a living hell:
The two of you will never know peace again, as long as we rule over this place. All of us... We'll take turns beating you up and taking everything you have...
Kyle can't help but smile after that beatdown and say he can't wait to meet his friends, but Gene assures he'll regret saying that once they're done, and leaves.
With that out of the way, he orders some of Ja/ck/'s chicken.
Once he returns home, he takes the time to read "Tough Enough"s design document. "List of potential participants"... "Rules"... "How to run the show"... "The purpose behind Tough Enough"... The passion for wrestling is palpable through the pages and words, able to intoxicate anyone reading as if Wright was next to them, like his very soul was in it. He already knew as much, but to see it put into concise and elaborated thoughts... this is the real Wright, the one he always knew. He left his heart in those papers, but... does he really know him any better after reading it? If this is the real Wright... why... did things turn out the way they did? He was an amazing mind for the business, an outstanding wrestler, a fountain of knowledge as a mentor... a great friend. But after saying that, Kyle can't help but have both th Wright he knew and the one that ruined everything appear in his mind, and drives his fist into the wall in frustration.
Episode 2[edit | edit source]
The first step of "Tough Enough" are the interviews; Wright already had a list of scouted talent, so all he had to do was call them. He's still unsure if this is what he really wanted to do... but the Board of Directors' representative announces the candidates are already.
The first two interviewees, Ricky Cumshotta and Boogie Woogie Wu, decided to do the interview together. Their reason for being there is for their familia back at "that" place, it's not biggest promotion out there, nor draws the biggest crowds... but the talent that is developed at NXT is unmatched, and they want the whole world to know that! Squishmaiden, Chwan, Maximus, da Kuma... they want to show the people they left behind they can all become larger-than-life superstars... and to realize the amn they owe it all, the Cagist's, WrestleDream! To realize their mentor's dream... Kyle thinks they have something in common, although he doesn't particularly like it.
Next... Narushima Koga. He says he "learned all his rizz" at the Coldsteel Dojo and fought at some MMA matches events. Kyle questions if he really thinks that's all it's gonna take for him to make it, but Koga tells him to just look at Reiji, from MMA legend to wrestling champion, he's "bussin"! Kyle nonchalantly moves on while wishing he would stop talking like that...
Next comes a costumed man... when asked why he chose to pursue this career, Samurai Flamenco believed TFR needed a hero, and he came to be exactly that. If he's talking about those guys who invaded TFR, Kyle thinks it wouldn't be a good idea, especially with that suit, but he expresses he would be no good without the suit his grandpa designed, and as part of the tradition he can't take off the mask either. Traditions like that stopped mattering around here a while ago... not that the kid would ever understand, Kyle thinks to himself.
A plain but interesting man, Mechazawa Shinichi ponders about the deep question of "why be here", but the reason for everyone there... must be because they have something to prove to someone; someone specific, a group... or even themselves, and he in turn asks the the interviewer if he's thought who he's here for. Kyle has plenty... but can't say he's happy about it, and while noting the guy's cool aura, he really isn't in the mood for this kind of talk.
The next guy begins blasting a long discourse about how Chai will be the next wrestling superstar, the ring will be his stage and the audience will move to his beat, and all his opponent will hear is 1-2-3!... but this isn't promo school yet (and he'll need it), and Kyle just asked a simple question... Chai asks if he got what he was trying to say, and Kyle can't muster anything but "I guess".
Then comes this kid... Reize Seatlan. He trained in his backyard all his life and wants to wrestle all over the world, so what better place to start than TFR? Kyle ponders if AEW might not be a better match before mentioning how he has been participating in charity matches without asking for a booking fee, which the kid just says "they're pretty fun. What more could I want out of it?". Kyle then remembers rumors about how the kid's dad is loaded and has made generous donations to TFR since it fell on hard times... so Wright really was doing things like this...
A surprising kid next, Suou Tatsuya says that a few months ago he couldn't answer the question, but now... wrestling is his purpose, he can't explain it, but he can feel it deep inside him, and wants to know why. Kyle has heard good things backstage yet tells him he won't get it easy just for having friends backstage, which Tatsuya is ready for... but Kyle thinks that he'll soon find why he really isn't.
Afterwards comes "Gregson"... he says he can't hold back inside the ring, he's learned all the hottest new, suplex, bear hug, scoop slam... Kyle wants to say something, but Gregson cuts him off about how he likes to distance from fellow youngsters and turn it up a notch―he has plenty left in the tank, he can take it! He's never been injured once in his career in fact, everyone says he's a resilient one, except for Miles―he quickly tells Kyle to forget the name, he didn't mean anyone specific...
The final interviewee, another man who grew up in "that orphanage"... Kyle asks for his hobbies and mention a small band, but Chinman barely stutters that they were a small bar band nothing like Gas Chamber, and it didn't go so well so he wasn't made it for it... but, he's sure that, if he gets in, some day, the crowd will love him, he'll make them love him! Kyle notes not to ever give him a mic... but at least he won't be getting knocked out anytime with a chin like that.
All the interviews done, Kyle can't shake that feeling of suspicion off of him, Wright's goals couldn't be that simple. Has the person he knew been nothing but a mask? Has he even been ever truly sincere? And with everything he commited... does he truly love wrestling? All Kyle can do now is keep digging...
With the first day of work done, Kyle tries to rest easy... but then
Look out, Kyle! One of the leaders for the Blacklist Brotherhood brought his men to come after you!
And you know what they did?
They beat my friends black and blue, all because they said they might've seen you!
Please, is there anything you can do to help!?
The man attacking Ja/ck/'s now is Bolo Reynolds, and unlike Gene he can't say he didn't see the markings of a lowlife thug in him. In fact, that's exactly what he was, before Wright saved him... and then Kyle fucked it all up and put him back where he started, although Kyle blames that more on his "blackface" stunt. But he claims he did that for the sake of allowing that usurper Furio to be defeated by Kyle, to make him lose his cool! Screw his side of the tournament! ...and then Kyle got pummeled like a bitch, in fact Furio was only there because traitors like Kyle didn't support Wright, if he had been a real FRIEND and PARTNER, Wright wouldn't have had to leave and everyone would be having fun in TFR. Utterly baffled and confused at Bolo's sheer misunderstanding and deluded words, his attempts to tell Bolo that Wright betrayed them are simply swayed off, but after all he's just one of those meatheads he picked as a pet project and never had to think for a day in his life. But for continuing to be a smartass who still thinks he could deceive Wright, Bolo will make him pay...
Kyle gives it his all to not lose, but Bolo's might is simply too much. Ja/ck/'s finely-aged chicken, beef and cheddar are theirs for the taking. As a family, Bolo didn't just come because he wanted to cave his head in himself, but he came with backup from the B. Brotherhood as well. Kyle gets up and remarks people like them love to cheat, but Gene appears to remind him to watch his mouth; as a man of his word, he'll keep coming back again, and again, and again, and again, because he needs to further and constantly torture Kyle about how at fault he is... how alone he truly is; with a punch to the gut, he reminds him how many lives he derailed, how nobody will stand with a loser who ruined everything, and how his "Mystery Masters" are all gone now. If one think he thanks him for, is that the Blacklist Brotherhood would've never gotten so strong if not for the sheer anger, disappointment and frustration he made them channel into it, and then they leave to play poker.
Episode 3[edit | edit source]
With just a few weeks of runtime of the project, Kyle wonders if it's enough time to teach everything there is to know. Was it even properly designed? He still got his reservations about the scouted talent, and Chinman already hasn't shown up... it makes his job easier but still. To help, Kyle personally requested Jingu Yugo as one of the main trainers for the project; he may be nothing but a humble janitor nowadays, but he used to be one of the most knowledgeable people in the industry, and along with him he brought greatest coach of the modern era, his star pupil, Phi. Jingu affirms Mr. Wright couldn't possibly have made a DUD, and Phi says in good authority that, no matter how green they are, by the final episode they'll all be capable of five-star bouts. With the show about to start, Kyle asks if they got the greenlight from the "show-owner" GM Mod, and Retinz says the introductory interview have been shown to the audience and they're ready to go out there for the first challenge: taking a bump...
Retinz welcomes the audience to the first ever TFR Tough Enough challenge, in this revolutionary show, the audience will be heard: the 9 competitors will be guided by trainers and face each other in all kinds of tests, and in the end, all the abilities that make a great wrestler will be tested, and THE AUDIENCE will decide who is TOUGH ENOUGH! The winner gets a guaranteed contract with a title match to go alongside it! Project Manager Kyle steps in with a short foreword. This is a unique opportunity, whoever wins skips straight to the big league, skipping the dues and tribulations everyone else did, but it's not gonna be a fun time still. This business gives and takes, it brought Kyle good times, friends and purpose, and then it took it away, and brought sadness, betrayal, and pain. But if they are willing to endure all of it... then they can be called "Tough Enough". To expand further, Kyle asks Chai for his favorite match, but "Junpei vs. Kong Wenge"... he doesn't even remember who that is, and loses his train of thought. Also, just for further notice, one of Chai's nuts is hanging from his pant, he's got to fix that big hole.
Seeing as how Koga is really energetic, Kyle tells him to go with the first bump, but he bumps into Kyle. Ricky goes second with a slow, sloppy bump which Phi calls out and tells him to be more intense... just like they said on the set. Right next Boogie with a theatrically slow descent, which Jingu tells to cut out and Phi to flat back. Reize does 4 fast bumps, Jingu tells him to slow down and Kyle says if he "sells" like that he'd tag him for real. Samurai Flamenco jumps into the air and falls, but Jingu says overselling just makes him look like a jobber. Chai jumps into a rope and falls, but he's called out by both Phi and Kyle for using a springboard and "trying to impress". Gregson... lifts himself in the air and piledrives himself, more than wondering how that's possible, Kyle just wants a normal bump delivered. At last, Mechazawa delivers a good, flawless snap, impressing everyone. As the last one, Tatsuya tries to impress, but Jingu and Phi just think he could use some improvement.
With that, the first challenge is over and it's time for the audience to vote: Mechazawa accrues 3 points, Samurai Flamenco gets 2, and Tatsuya gets the last one. Kyle thinks he'll need a beer after all that...
It's been a while since he went to Survive Bar, but the Bartender kept the bottle waiting for him as promised, so he gets to it. As he takes the first sip, it sinks that it's the first break he's had in a while, while looking concerned at his phone for half-expectant of a message from work or Ja/ck/. Kyle begins recollecting his thoughts about these past few weeks, the call her received last time he was at this very bar was when it all started, they offered him Wright's project much to his dismay but there was no way he could reject it knowing it meant understanding the man who betrayed him. Then the Blacklist Brotherhood cam in, expecting to drag him down to rot like them, regurgitating the same insults he's heard since the fateful day of the match with "Furio", and may be right that he failed everything. He never thought of being a 'mentor', but during the interviews he did realize there was some potential buried there somewhere... but he couldn't shake off the feeling that just maybe he wasn't cut out for this, did he scare a good prospect in Chinman away? Wright's legacy weights him down like a ton of bricks reminding him of the shoes to fill. In the end, if you asked him about Tough Rnough so far, he wouldn't know what to answer. The Bartender suddenly breaks Kyle away from his concentration by saying he can see a speck of hope in him that wasn't there before, but Kyle just tells him to cut the cheesy talk and pour him another for the long night.
Episode 4[edit | edit source]
Last time they tested how comfortable they were in the ring, now it's time for the other major aspect: mic work. Retinz welcomes the audience again to the second challenge of Tough Enough.
First up is Samurai Flamenco, making a promo around the word "Thunder", on Reize; Somewhat impressive to the judges. Next, Reize will use "Apex" on Chai; he mentioned "AEW Women's World Champion"...said something he shouldn't have. Next, Chai will use "Radiance" on Ricky; Went on and on about milk and nonsense, at some point he really lost them... Jingu even fell asleep! Next, Ricky will use "Rampage" on Boogie, and he better not mention other companies; Good selling for an energy drink, not so much for a match. Next, Boogie will use "Punishment" on Tatsuya; Something about being cheated on after leaving NXT and losing it... Jingu liked it, good escalation, audience had places to pop, but content needs work. Next Tatsuya will use "Mental" on Gregson; He lost his sense of reality and became a demon... creativity is there, but don't need to get too outlandish. Next Gregson will use "Timeless" on Mechazawa; He... forgot his lines...? No words. Next Mechazawa will use "Life" on Koga; A tragic story about losing it all and revenge... that was good enough to get the judges emotional, even Kyle thinks he was really cool. Next and lastly, Koga will use "Moment" on, since he's last, Kyle; .........Kyle just tells Retinz to get the vote up.
Mechazawa scores 3 points, racking up 6 total. Tatsuya gets 2, bringing his total to 3. And the last one goes to Samurai Flamenco, who is also at 3.
Another hard day of work teaching those kids. Is it really all Wright had in mind? Can it really be that simple? No, it can't. Then, another text from Ja/ck/... isn't that place supposed to be frequented by strong wrestlers? Either way...
Bolo and Gene are at it again, asking why their 'personal little bitch' keeps coming back, but he says they wouldn't understand what having a backbone is in a million years. They both agree that's one more thing to break out of him if he's really intent of taking them 2-on-1, but just then Narushima Koga arrives seeking to enter the 'restaurant only wrestlers are allowed in' that his master mentioned. He's disappointed when Gene says it's closed, but Kyle tells him they're just thugs shacking down the owner, Koga decides to join Kyle since he knows how those TikTok 2-on-1 fight videos go and to demonstrate his Coldsteel Style further.
Gene and Bolo stay on top a second time. Next time, they're gonna bring even more of the gang to have more fun, and the big guy that's coming won't let anyone bail him out. Sheesh... Koga's master didn't tell him how to stop holding back... but Kyle appreciates the backup, so Koga throws in if he gets some extra points for it, and Kyle sighs that of course not.

...the "Saihara Shuichi memorial show", for someone who never even stepped foot into that company, for someone who isn't even confirmed dead? To make money off him and further attack TFR like Nero's been doing? The indignation Kyle feels is hard to put into words. Phi has to remind him Tough Enough is starting to break him from his trance.
The last two weeks explored two dimensions of what constitutes a wrestler: The in-ring ability and the promo skills, but there's more aspects than that, and this week they'll delve a bit deeper into them. Retinz welcomes the audience once again to a highly-anticipated edition of Tough Enough!
For this challenge, each contestant will be presented with an entire new character, after all a major character turn can happen as easily as from one day to another. Once they've defined their new role, they'll bring the character to life with an entrance. So right from the left field, it's time to assign the names the assistant writers have come up with:
Things won't change much for Boogie, since his new name to make work is "Cosmic Dancer", but he better try to spice it up. Ricky's name for this challenge'll be "JERRYSCHNEIDER", yes without pause.
Reize will be called "New World Cool Guy"; he asks if he can find that "New World" rumble, but obviously it's not a real company so Kyle tells him it may be a futuristic gimmick but it's his job to figure it out anyways. Samurai Flamenco will get to keep his face covered, as "El Flojo" that is, a future legend of Lucha Libre. Chai's got a good one in "Elvis Stixx"; just like he wanted, maybe he'll even get to keep i!... Phi points that's not for him to decide, and besides Kyle figured the challenge was for NOT having full control.
Koga... Sexual Harrasment. Jingu has to tell Kyle it's the name and not a statement, what are the backstage staff smoking... Tatsuya is now "The Potential Superstar" CJ Worthy, or CJ "Potential" Worthy for short, but Tatsuya wonders, "if" he's potential "when" is he gonna "be" reality...Kyle tells him to not think about it that hard.
Gregson will bear a classic name in "Abraham Washington", luckily they're his favorite "recent" US presidents so he can already picture it! And lastly, Mechazawa will become "John Guy"... Kyle thinks that's quite unfair, but Phi is sure he'll come through to make it interesting.
With assignment done, the contestants will head backstage, where a great number of attire choices and the best makeup crew on the planet will make the characters come alive in record time. After a short delay, the participants come one after the others to their entrances. John Guy definitely left a lasting impression on the judges, and Retinz prepares to set the poll, but things have been changed around: Top 5 will get points this time, and audience will get to vote twice! S. Harrasment comes first with 5 whole points. E. Stixx next also with his first 4 pts. El Flojo comes in 3rd for a total of 6 pts. CJ "Potential" Worthy is 4th and "is" at 5 pts. Last but not as late as his age, A. Washington gets the last point.
After receiving a free ticket at a nearby burger joint, Kyle easily infiltrates AEW. A worthy rival to NXT indeed, plenty of ex-TFR guys in the roster and some BCW too, but his issue lies somewhere else... suddenly, Reize calls out to him; as part of his adventuring he watches promotions all over the world, and couldn't miss something as stacked as AEW's first PPV. "Stacked" indeed, as they've got the new Shimano, Eugene Chaud, and the new Cawdy, Steve Burnside, and could even witness the birth of the new Steven Sonozaki! As Kyle continues trying to hide how much he's cringing, Reize hopes he works hard enough for the Tough Enough audience to notice he's as good as those guys, but Kyle asks him to just improve on his own without trying to be like anyone (especially not those guys), please. Hardly paying attention, Reize gets excited about the upcoming "BANGER" match...
At the end of the night and after witnessing the sheer disrespect put on, Kyle had enough and decides to complain to Amakusa personally, which will hopefully chew him out after that disaster of a press conference. Before reaching the office, Nero shows up to keep Kyle's "loser face" from annoying their boss further in a restricted area. Nero thinks 'loser' fits Kyle nicely compared next to the guy who would've saved BCW and the job of hundreds of people—Kyle rebutes that he would've just doomed a hundred others, but Nero sees it more of a 'liberation' from being enslaved to a corrupt corporation, just like Wright's here bitch is. Slave... that's the worst, when Kyle says both are here for their own reasons and free will, but that can't be the case when they had a real chance to break free at that tournament, and Kyle had to go and take the spotlight to, once again, stand before "Wright" and screw it all up. Each of them point at each other for their inability to let that day go, but Nero knows it eats Kyle up inside day after day, he can see it in his eyes full of sorrow and guilt... maybe it's already driven him insane, one of his protégés has already burned down a building after all. As Nero calls him a sorry excuse for a man that should leave wrestling to those that actually care about it, Kyle remembers times when he would talk with Wright...
[Being part of the backstage...] Well, it can be difficult at times, but... It's very important to me.
...Have you ever thought about what's going to happen once we're gone?
This is a dangerous and risky business. It can crumble at anytime, and you won't even see it coming.
That's why we need to be prepared.
...He's wrong. Nero is wrong. He cares about it more than most people he's ever met, otherwise he would've given up and wouldn't be standing there, but he wants to be here in front of the future of the business at a hand's distance to shape it. Nero thinks he's saving it, but the path is one of self-consumption and destruction, and someone has to put an end to his ego trip. Having said that makes Nero kind of happy, he didn't wanna bother at first on this night, but he might just be worth beating up... At the last second, Nero sees a kid walking next to Kyle, and decides to walk away, waving Kyle away casually. And Kyle thought Reize had gone home already, but his father got him a backstage pass, although he didn't think he would get to see Kyle being friends with The Fortuna Nightmare, but that just could offend Kyle... Out of nowhere, Reize says that he wants to learn more than just from Tough Enough, and asks Kyle to teach him. He's stunned for a moment before thinking he could make some free time if he really wants, so first thing Reize asks is to be taught to be as charismatic as Amakusa, and Kyle sighs at the work ahead of him.
Episode 6[edit | edit source]
After Kyle's phone finishes charging, he notices he has 12 messages from Ja/ck/, he'll have to check after the show... but more importantly, Koga also isn't here. Phi tells Kyle that they finally managed to reach him, but he's in the hospital and won't make it. Could be worse, considering the "Sexual Harassment" stuff...
It's another earth-shattering edition of Tough Enough, but this time, Retinz announces that the audience will finally get what they've been waiting for: classic, one-on-one wrestling! The winner of each match shall be awarded with two points, along with the four rookies at the top of the poll also accruing points. Sadly, through no fault of his own, Narushima Koga won't be competing, so he'll be awarded a pity point and still be able to participate in the poll. As a final note, some of the best in the TFR locker room will be watching those matches backstage, because they'll each be picking one competitor to mentor for future challenges! Without further ado, the bell rings!
Chai and Reize put on something, it can't be called a match and it can't be explained with words, but someone pinned another so it was something. Boogie and Ricky put on an actual match, which sadly hit the audience wrongly after the crazefest that came before. Samflam and Gregson also go a little crazy but more choreographed and with some nice spots. And finally, Tatsuya and Mechazawa go extreme but in a good way that impresses the audience.
Mechazawa goes first along with the victory bonus, reaching an impressive 12 points. Tatsuya from the same match gets second and is up to 8 pts. Gregson is third and with the bonus goes to 5 pts. And last also from the same match is Samurai Flamenco, now with 7 pts. With the bonus, Chai gets to 6 pts. Boogie gets the victory bonus for his first 2 pts. And with his pity point, Koga is at 6 pts.
Kyle visits Koga in the hospital, and tells him he better get out of there soon or he won't get any more pity points from him next week, and so does Koga–he can't even see Mr. Beast's stuff comfortably! Kyle wonders if they shouldn'tve hit his heard harder... inquiring more about it, Koga tells him the Blacklist Brotherhood finna did it on him, 3-on-1! Last dude was a monster, not just huge but something vicious about him, moment he saw Koga wasn't using shoes he just went berserk, and it was lights out. Kyle is glad Koga could at least pinpoint what he did wrong and g row, but Koga just says he should've been dripped out like Yeat... either way, Kyle decides it's gone too far and decides to go to Jack's on his own, and Koga warns him his master might be there and might try to help. With perfect timing, Kyle receives a text from Ja/ck/...
Gene and Bolo are there, ready who welcome him after thinking for once he had 'gotten a clue' and abandoned the place, but Kyle doesn't care about the two bozos and ask for their third member. And to think Gene was feeling generous enough to have some mercy on him, if it's like that, then he calls out... Dan Schneider. The ground shakes as Dan comes to meet the man who ended their jobs; blacklisted from not just the TV industry, but also Pro Wrestling because of a stupid porno mag trafficking ring... taking the fall and fighting for his everyday life while Van is still out there on TV... thanks to the TFR vs. BCW shockwaves all alternative promotions either closed down or became "whitewashed" and scrutinized their roster from everything that could look bad... obviously including Dan. A real sob story, but Kyle tells him a criminal ought to at least take responsibility instead of blaming others for being let go. Dan shuts Kyle up, chanting that he did nothing wrong, and begins screaming about feet as he goes mad into a berserk rage, Kyle finally understanding what Koga meant and feeling an unfathomable power surging from him. Just as Gene and Bolo are about to gang on him, Koga's master, Rean Schwarzer, arrives from giving a nearby girl "private lessons", and decides to fulfill his promise to Koga. Since Dan is busy, thought, seems that he'll have to hold back on Gene and Bolo, haha... Dan screams even harder about feet as Kyle takes him on!
Almost impossible to believe... Kyle defeated Dan (powered down by him not being barefoot), and Rean thoroughly headpats Gene and Bolo, who decide to all retreat this once. Rean remarks Kyle is as strong as he heard from Koga, and even seems to be using a similar technique to "Coldsteel Style: Holding Back Kata"! Rean returns to his Coldsteel Dojo since he's late for his lessons. Ja/ck/ comes running out since Kyle finally drove back the Blacklist Brotherhood. With some high quality steak and drink, Kyle has plenty to tell him about a certain "Fortuna Nightmare"...

After a long night rest since beating the B. Brotherhood, Kyle's arriving almost late to the TFR Arena when he receives a terrifying call... that turns out to be Phi, but still trouble as protesters are blocking the entrance again. "Fed evil", "Fed bad", Nero promo quotes rip-offs... well, nobody watches AEW to do the latter, but those seem to always be what they are chanting. From the crowd emerges Ruber, calling Kyle courageous (or masochistic) for entering a protest while badmouthing it, but unlike him he knows the corrupt, rotten calls being thrown to the place are speaking nothing but the truth. Kyle tries to level with him by saying both know how shady the place was in the past since both worked there, but Kyle doesn't buy the "savior" bullshit—if he has any real, solid proof the place is a bigger hellhole than everyone already knows, he better make Kyle's job easier and show him, but as it stands they sound like nothing but cultists. In response, Ruber asks the "cult" of Coolsville citizens why they're here: "bad examples for the children!", "hiring criminals!", "you don't own a fookin footy club like Amakusa!"... as Kyle expected, it's the same time-old made-up drama, so Ruber invites him to stay blind while they continue their work. One of the protesters mentions that Norf FC's game is about to begin, and in the blink of an eye the crowd disperses... Ruber chants that enough was done for the day, and just enough people leave to make the entrance accessible.
Another week, another time for the moment the audience has been watering their mouth for: Tough Enough! Last week they demonstrated their ring prowess, now mentors will choose their disciples! Without further ado, Retinz will introduce them...
First of all, the creator of the Coldsteel Style: Rean Schwarzer, thinks Reize Seatlan has a lot of potential... even if Koga is right there, he has to spread the Coldsteel Style, you know? Reize hopes to become good enough for his dream match against AEW star Saihara. Mom said it's Donte's turn to pick, so he gets the funny chinese guy because his name is funny, so in retaliation Vorgin gets the NXTer with the bigger dick (he'll send the proof later)! A harbinger of JUSTICE, George Jackman could not see himself picking anyone but the real Samurai among them, who much like him has studied the Katana (he doesn't actually have one), and calls that shounen to protect the world together! After so many years of training, Wayne is glad Son of Greg is finally worthy of his title, as many don't understand the rules of this game like he does, but look around and realize that upon a time neither of them would be good enough to stand amongst the "Knights of Coolsville"... Gregson thanks him for the 12 years they've spent together. Tatsuya's potential is clear as day... and that's why Sareth wants to temper it with his knowledge of wrestling from around the world, but most importantly improving his kicks, but only part Tatsuya isn't looking forwards to is the camera always up to his nose. Koga must be used to sexually harassing men, because his promos are GAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, so The Professional will take him under his wing. Kido Reiji saw the many pathetic attempts at strike combinations, and Mechazawa stood out, so he'll teach him not to be so stiff. Retinz thinks that about concludes it, but adds that Chai's training will be done by Kyle, the later who wasn't even informed about it and it being this guy... Now, to test the chemistry, Retinz announces three tornado matches, winners will get 2 points, and the audience will yet again vote on the top 4.
Boogie went above and beyond his master by singlehandedly winning the HiaC, and for that got both the victory and the first place in voting, totaling in 6 pts. The Samurai of Justice demonstrated their bushido and might, getting the victory and second place for a shocking 12 pts. Koga is third and ranks up to 8 pts. And Kyle's disciple Chai gets the last point, up to 7 pts. For grabbing the top of the ladder, Ricky also got his first 2 pts.
No news of Jack's, means goon news from Jack's. The perfect time to have a steak and ruminate on next week's challenge... except Chai is still standing there. Since he's his mentor, and Chai thinks he needs to "immerse himself on the wrestler routine" by seeing how Kyle carries himself outside the ring, he decides that he can tag along this once since tasting Ja/ck/'s cooking is an initiation ritual for a wrestler. For once he arrives at Jack's without trouble in sight and gets to ask for a table, when suddenly a message... from Jack, who is right in front of him... and behind him appear the three delinquents he's used to dealing with. Chai asks if he knows them, and the group proudly proclaims they beat his ass black and blue several times, leaving out the time he won because they control the narrative. As Dan psyches himself into his feetserker rage, Kyle quickly tells the anxious Chai he better know how to defend himself, when Mechazawa appears out of nowhere to even the odds. Gene can't believe he's able to keep pulling these randomly-generated jobbers out nowhere and Bolo says they'll crush them anyway, but as Mechazawa tells his allies to believe in their own strength, the group becomes truly fired up.
That's two in a row, even if Gene and Bolo think they're still ahead, that's twice they failed. Dan makes up that they just got caught off-guard, which Kyle nonchalantly likens to how he lied to the children in his van about his "free candy", but Dan digs his hole further by stating that he DID give them candy in exchange for feet pics... and collapses. Gene and Bolo start dragging him away due to "feetsies abstinence", and Bolo says he won't be so smug when they bring their leader, which Kyle likens to the "King of Pussies". For that, he tells the two that he'll be paying the bill from Jack's since they earned it, and Chai can't wait to eat the entire catalog to become a "More Awesomer" wrestler, while Kyle tells him to please not.

The Bartender is surprised at seeing Kyle at such an hour at the bar, but it's hard for him to do anything else when the protests are blocking everything again, besides, it's not like coming to drink and feel sorry for himself was his first choice, but it's hard when their General Manager locks himself in his office and watches Joshi stuff all day. Trying to keep the drink at bay, The Bartender wonders if there isn't some contingency plan he could use, but he gives up when Kyle suggests alcohol might help him think about it. Even if he's not one to deny a drink to one of his best customers, there's no doubt he ought to go back to training those kids since it has done more good than bad for him.
Taking this chance, Kyle decides to collect his thoughts once again, especially about the one thing he doesn't want to lose focus on... Wright. Coming off the second Tough Enough episode, he had a confrontation with Blacklist punks, and he ran into Koga. Pretty green despite being a student of the "Coldsteel Dojo", they didn't have much luck. Not long after that, he heard of the "Saihara Shuichi Memorial Show" and needless to say wasn't one bit happy. He wonders what Wright would think about it, low as he was Kyle hopes he wouldn't go as far as AEW did that day. But more personally, because while he was in the crowd his heart skipped a beat when the music hit, and then all that was racing through his mind was dashed by "Masked Saihara" coming out. After that, there was no doubt in him to confront Amakusa, but instead he found a man he once sympathized with, who went through similar struggles and shared complicated feelings towards Wright: Nero, and could see anger, resentment, sadness, disappointment, and other emotions he's been nurturing inside himself... mostly aimed at Kyle. He made the reason clear as he thinks Kyle fighting "Furio" was selfish, even if he wouldn't have the gall if he had actually won... but he didn't, truth is Wright had something up his sleeve and Kyle had no counter. All sort of possibilities probably crossed Nero's mind, such as Kyle lying down for his friend, or for his own personal and selfish gain, or even that Kyle was never good enough and he himself could've done the job, and even said as much for the last one. Regardless of how much he truly believes that, he was right on the selfish part, but rather because his issues with Wright were more personal than Nero's; he was being held back by an incompetent boss, while Kyle's mentor and best friend stabbed him in the back. The desperation of seeking why he did that pushes him forwards to this day, but... was he in the wrong just because he stepped up to him? He thought he could carry everyone's hope, he was the most motivated, he knew Wright best... he thought he was the right man to stop Wright. And in the end crushed under that weight, and yet he currently shoulders dreams once again, Wright's no less. That must piss Nero off further, but Kyle isn't happy about it either; whenever he remembers that day, he wonders if he made the right choice, if this destiny was truly inevitable... or would their fates be different had Nero been in his place? Would he be able to beat a resolution to the feelings inside him out of Nero? Whatever the right answer, he won't hold back next they meet. That aside, it was just after he first met physically with the protesters, and wonders if they are connected to AEW as they both treat TFR as the devil. "The show must go on"... he wonders how Wright would handle it, maybe having all matches as street fights with 0 safety, since the last few months he had control he was taking that carny mentality to an extreme, with Kyle still having no idea why. Regardless, following his footsteps has undoubtedly helped Kyle, and getting to develop those kids has been an experience, rough as they are. Makes him kinda sad the show's in the state it is...
Just then, he receives a phonecall... and not from Jack, but Phi telling him to haul ass. First wondering if another impromptu football game began or Mod finally got off his ass, apparently Phi heard of a special broadcast happening at Town Square, maybe that YouTuber they've heard so much of recently. He better not forget and arrive late because he's got someone to mentor, but Kyle would never because they both agree that he's... remarkable alright. Either way, Phi's going over the script with Retinz and Jingu while he comes. "Life always finds a way", The Bartender blurts ironically, but Kyle apologizes for shattering his expectations of drinking himself to tears. As he leaves, The Bartender tells him to have fun, but Kyle puts down to not mix him with the actual one who would look forwards to fun in a workday, Wright, but more importantly, Bartender tells him something important.
Follow the path that will put your heart at ease. Even if the truth might hurt, you'll feel some peace when you reach the end of the road
But Kyle is already resolute in seeing it through to the end, so he tells him to not worry.
With TFR being finally back, Tough Enough is as well, and Retinz welcomes the audience to this long-awaited edition! They've already explored vital aspects that constitute a star, but now they'll navigate into uncharted waters: The participants will collaborate with their mentors not in the ring, but in creating music! Music can be key in a wrestler's presentation, sometimes even getting over just due to it (like a certain Snorious example). They have some very talented staff, so their challenge is helping them come up with a new theme song―will they be able to keep it? That's up to creative, but for tonight all goes! Jingu isn't a music instructor, but even he is excited for what they can make.
Koga felt he wanted to be a trap GAWD his whole career, and since this is his shot at it, he's gonna spit TWO whole bussin' tracks at once so his huge Latino fanbase can get that fire shit, just like Bad Bunny... 47 isn't happy he didn't ask for advice, so he'll show him himself. Gregson already knows he'll get with the times and make the new hotness, Disco, and Wayne agrees to shuffle the universe's lexicon into a disco fever of cosmic serendipity. Boogie will put on his A-game after seeing Gregson knows how to boogie, and the only missing piece to his homeland-inspired creation is provided by Donte: Fuck You! This time around Ricky doesn't want to lose to his NXT partner, but luckily Vorgin claims to be a master DJ. Reize finds music-making boring and would rather pick a royalty-free, but Rean tells him not to worry since he'll make a song that'll recount the story of Rean Coldsteel. Reiji doesn't even care and tells Mechazawa that this one's on him, who takes the burden with pride. Tatsuya doubts he can do much with a fighter jet's, a motorcycle's, or construction's noises and maybe should text Eikichi or Ginko, so Sareth asks Kat if she could get a music video out in time, and she'll try sending some footage to record labels. Samurai Flamenco thinks he won't be able to surpass La Parka's "Thriller", but Jackman's got the perfect idea of a song telling the story of the modern samurai! This entire opportunity itself... it was made for Chai, and certainly Kyle can't trust him with anything else but if it's music surely he won't mess up.
After debuting their songs, Tough Enough participants are made to contest in the rumble for MITB, with the stipulation that if they make it to the last 5 they'll win 2 additional points, and another 2 if they win the rumble itself. Only Samurai Flamenco lasts until the Top 4. Tatsuya's "From the world I've left behind" is ranked as the #1 hit, gaining 5 pts and jumping to the top of the rankings with 14pts. After boogie'ing it up, "Boogie Woogie FUCK U" gets Boogie 4 points, up to 12 total. The bussin' songs of Koga prove straight FIRE as he's third, going up to 11pts. Disco revives with "The Lawyer's Groove" and Gregson's score slightly as well making it up to 7pts. For his rumble performance, Samurai Flamenco ranks up to 14pts with 2 bonus points.
And... although not a participant, 47 would get the last point if he was able to, making the tragic score of Reize remain at zero after not even being able to accrue one single point in the entire tournament.
Episode 9.1
Finding him at the Survive Bar, Kyle finally confronts "Saihara" about his revival (and more importantly, his gained height), but as "Saihara" told him before, it was just a minor setback, and took his growth hormones pills. As for coming back from death... it's a long story that he'd rather spare, but as Kyle is so insistent, "Saihara" relents. He won't get into specifics, but basically, it goes back to when our world was created; there were two competing gods involved, and one had a different idea of what the world should look like. He tried to stop the first god, and after a long struggle, only one of them remained...
Because of that god's personal belief, he created one race: The Blacks, the kings and queens of the world that ruled it peacefully for years. But the line started going extinct, and after consulting with other gods (including ones still known today), he devised a plan to revive The Blacks. Instead of a pure black race, they became a mixed one, mixing with every ethnicity, even some gods included! Once everyone was assembled there, underneath an enormous banner that read "Welcome", Jesus Christ stood atop a small hill, looking out at everyone gathered there, He raised his arms high, and spoke loudly enough for everyone to hear:
"Gathered Blacks, friends and family, we have finally arrived at the end of this glorious journey.
This is where our stories intertwine. For while some of you return home, others shall proceed forward onto a brand new adventure.
We bid farewell to those who return home, and welcome those who proceed forth.
This is the beginning of a new era for us. An era where our races mix together, and we become more unified.
Now, let's take our final farewells to those returning home, and give a warm welcome to those proceeding forth.
May our paths never diverge. We will always be there for each other.
Goodbye."
After that long story, Kyle had only one thing left to say... what the hell does that have anything to do with him being resurrected?!

To get to know how they trained the "stars of the future", Kyle gets himself to NXT, and finds it as empty as rumors say, thinking it a shame as it's developmental system has brought about some good talent (Colombo, Rave, Ay'im, Topik, Ratio...). Of course, Ricky and Boogie too, so it's a good opportunity to know more about them. Coincidentally, they are the very first person he meets there, who is surprised to see him (or anyone) even visit this place at all. At first surprised they still come here, they explain Kyle they came to visit friends (such as Kwame Da Kuma, Johnny Squishmaiden, Tall Paul, Noah Sight...) whom all hold hope to make it into the big leagues, but also since they're their motivation in the first place, they themselves who are kinda in a bigger league come to tell them what they've learned, since they're a family after all. They owe everything to The Cagist, something they can never forget, and so what they want out of Tough Enough is to make it big so they can invest into NXT, and make sure it's never empty again, fulfilling The Cagist's dream of taking NXT all over Japan, Mexico, and the UK... Kyle can't help but appreciate their conviction and appreciation for their mentor (and even if he can't say the same, he has been following his's dream to a T), and that they carry their friends' hopes in their back and use that responsibility to never give up. Kyle hopes they succeed, but asks them a different question instead: what if they don't? Not even that makes them losing motivation, as Ricky will keep up with his second job on the "set", and Boogie will take any band dancing gig or work in indie shows; it's, after all, what their friends have been through, so if they can, so can the two of them. Their heart seems on the right place, so with that Kyle decides to leave, asking why their boss isn't around, but Ricky only knows he's been busy with something he's not privy to. In a last goodbye, Kyle tells Ricky to try harder so he doesn't fall behind in the scoreboard.
As he walks to the job, he reminds himself to not underestimate those kids again; even if they are rookies they have a lot going for them... maybe they are "tough enough" after all.
Tough Enough is about to start, and Kyle has seen no sign of Reize... Phi grimly reminds him of the last no-shows, but no matter the result, Kyle wants to guide all those kids to the finish line... yet Kyle's noble intentions are interrupted by a rare sight, Mod who has left his cave-office, for a special announcement... Reize has been let go earlier in the day. Through Kyle's stark silence, Mod continues that it was about time to begin culling the unsuccessful, and what a good riddance was it to start with a guy totaled at ZERO points! The program needs bigger stakes to pop those ratings! ...And his father's cheque bounced! With this, they can save money for tonight's show (and he can pay for Maki Itoh's OnlyFans)! Finally Kyle couldn't hold it in anymore, barely able to blurt how disgusted he is before feeling so sick he can't finish asking who he thinks he is. With a triumphant smile, Mod says he's just doing what's best for business, after all the company doesn't have much money to spare. He gleefully looks forwards to who'll be eliminated this week, and announces his return to his office. Phi looks sadly at Kyle, who finally breaks his composure to say she must've noticed the tension in his body from much he was holding back. She sighs about how messed up that was, not that she herself thought Reize was useful or anything, but Kyle shouts that it wasn't his decision to make at all. He's not the one working night in-and-out, instructing to, hanging with the rookies, it's not his life project and yet he can make the rules? They were to take all the contestant to the end... even if there was a single winner, the rest would still get to be with the best backstage and get closer to kickstarting their career... not simply a contest where everyone else is thrown to the curb... that's what Wright envisioned. Phi points out how much he must've respected Wright's idea, but her saying that makes his words hard to come in return. Just then, Jingu announces it's time, and Kyle dejectedly hides his feelings.
Another episode of Tough Enough has arrived, but Retinz points out the missing participant, and announces that the culling has begun for those unlucky enough to be at the bottom of the rankings. The time has come to punish those not "Tough Enough", and with a grand total of 0 points, Reize has already left! However, alongside Reize, one of their mentors in 47 is also missing, and because of a tragic accident backstage, they have found Koga another mentor: Hisoka, who is truly glad to meet him(♥), although Koga can't say the same, but his new mentor can see his potential(♣), and calls it such a shame what happened to 47(♦)... this all comes to a surprise to Kyle as well (but he thought 47 wasn't fit for the job anyways (and Phi has to point his mic is picking this up)). With enough announcements, Retinz says it's time for in-ring action... or rather out-of-ring, because next up is the sumo contest! 1 point for lasting 2 minutes against Potemkin before being thrown out, 3 points for throwing the super-super-heavyweight out of the ring, plus 1 bonus point to the fastest winner if multiple participants throw him out! With that, the greatest test of pure strength begins!
For bumping off Pot the fastest, Gregson gains 4 whole points, kicking it up to 11. Boogie dancing the sumo out of the ring gets him 3pts to an astounding 15. And finally, Koga gets the single endurance point, for 12 total.
Later that day, Kyle and Gene randomly met while shopping and there was one loaf of bread left. The fight was inevitable...
Episode 11[edit | edit source]
Putting those kids against a hulking mass that had the world belt just a minute ago might have been too unfair; the sumo contest was just a warmup for him, and that was it... now Chai's fate is sealed. Such potential careers trashed, all just because of Mod's bullshit rules... the least Kyle cando is look out for them, even if they are eliminated.
He never even got to say goodbye to Reize, but since the show hasn't begun yet, he'll call while he has the chance. As the call connects, Reize excitedly greets Kyle, since it already feels like forever. Kyle explains he wanted to check on him and the origin of the elimination rules, but Reize tells him not to worry at all since it's a dream come true, after all they grabbed him so fast since his 'daddy' has attended some of the owners's parties. Either way, Reize has a surprise for Kyle!... a "friend" that really wants to "talk" to him in Nero, who berates that not only does he scout promising talent only to shatter their dreams, but now he's begun with his contract tampering shit! Nero also ignores his excuses, as if he doesn't know "tyrants" like him, and tells him to stay away since he already blew his chance. Since he's getting tired of his cheap attempts at pissing him off, Kyle tells him that if he wants to settle this to just be straight about it, but Nero shuts him down since AEW has more important things to do like protecting their talent like he's doing right now, and to never call Reize again, he can consider this a warning for it, and ends the call. After that insufferable encounter, Kyle emptily mutters that it's not the last he'll see of him, but the surprises don't stop as Ricky Cumshotta appears behind him. Kyle was about to give him a call too since they didn't have a proper talk after his "send off", but Ricky claims he'll have time since he'll be sticking around... as spectator, rooting for his familia (who's doing pretty well to boot). What's buggering Kyle, thought, is if anyone tried to kick him out, but he claims he just waltzed right in, which speaks volumes about the state of security staff. Either way, Kyle will stand his ground against anyone that there's no harm in him being there, which Ricky appreciates as "sometimes even the biggest stars need a fluffer to help them out", even if Kyle doesn't get it. Just then, Phi shouts at Kyle that commercials are about done, so Kyle gets ready to move in, but tells Ricky one last thing in that he should stay backstage since otherwise it'd confuse the audience; for next time, Ricky says he'll bring an extra pair of sunglasses so no one can tell...
Tonight, Retinz announces, is a very special night for Tough Enough! The mentors have been hard at work, and finally everyone will get to see the results... themselves firsthand, in a 1-on-1 match! If a rookie manages to pull an upset and win, that's 2 points, and the audience will get to vote on if the match was good enough to grant one extra point, so that's two objectives to strive for!
All of the participants are all pumped up, but Chai just feels sorry for himself... but what's the point? Shouldn't he just go home?! ...then, Kyle fiercely yet calmly calls Chai's name, and tells him that there IS a point, even if he can't see it; as his mentor, he'd selfishly be happy to see how far he's come and all he's learned. So, Kyle asks him one favor: to go all out with all he's got. If it's like that... Chai would hate to let people down any further, so Kyle tells him he better not, and shouts for him to show what he's got!
Much different than anyone was expecting, Kyle and Chai put an extraordinary match. Chai demonstrated things he had never been able to do before, and together put on a match brimming with chemistry and iconic moments.
