I feel as though “favors” are not free nowadays. I love my friends and I know I shouldn’t expect anything in return when I do a “favor” but damn how many favors are gonna keep asking for when I’m getting nothing. I’m the only one in my circle who has a car and it’s exhausting being the designated driver. They’re struggling but I am too. I don’t get any gas money and I have to keep up with the maintenance of my car. Really feeling used right now. AITAH if I stop doing “favors” just because I’m getting nothing out of it?

NTA - since you are the only one with a car, it is not unreasonable to ask for some gas money. Gas ain’t cheap and if you are the only one driving everyone, they can pitch in. $5 won’t kill them. It’s cheaper then an Uber. That or they can walk. You are being taken advantage of and if you don’t tell them you need gas money, they won’t offer.
