CARSON, IA — Riverside High School senior Kyler Rieken has been selected as a recipient of the esteemed 2024 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship.
Out of nearly 16,000 candidates nationwide, Rieken emerged as one of 10 exceptional leaders chosen for this prestigious honor by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute in partnership with GE.
The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship, valued at up to $40,000, recognizes outstanding individuals who embody the exemplary leadership, integrity, and citizenship exemplified by President Ronald Reagan. Rieken can utilize this scholarship over six years, with a maximum award of $10,000 per academic year, to support his undergraduate studies.
Kyler has plans to attend Drake University and major in Business Management/Pre-Law and Vocal Music . He has been an active member of the student body throughout his Riverside CSD education, participating in Football, basketball, baseball, soccer, track, swimming, concert band and choir, jazz band and choir, marching band, pep band, musicals, FFA, 4H, quiz bowl, RSTN, Individual Speech, Student Council, Class President, NHS, student school board representative, and Wellness Council.

As part of this recognition, Rieken is invited to attend the annual Scholars Retreat from June 23-25 at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California. This exclusive event will provide Rieken with the opportunity to connect with executives from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute and GE, tour the renowned library, and engage with fellow scholars from across the nation.
