How many times did Smallville copy Buffy?

Doing a rewatch of smallville and keep realizing how many similarities and storylines and plot points that Buffy did first. Coincidence or did the writers take inspiration from Buffy?

That Smallville has a vampire character named Buffy I am confident they were inspired somewhat.

I feel like after buffy ended half the writers went to smallville. Maybe that’s why

You want a show that copied Buffy? Legacies seem to have taken a huge influence from Buffy more than its parent shows have.

Vampire Diaries also had a scene ripped straight from Angel it wasn't even subtle. It was the scene where Silas locks Stefan in a safe and tossed him into the lake. Just like Connor did to Angel. It was also around the time I stopped watching Vampire Diaries. It got so repetitive and boring at that point.

There are also a lot of similarities between Buffy and Xena. Whedon was a known Xena fan.

Aren’t a lot of the Smallville writers former Buffy writers?
