End of the Year Awards

Queens College Athletics Celebrates 2023-2024 Academic Year

FLUSHING, N.Y. – On Tuesday (May. 14) evening, the Queens College Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2023-2024 Academic Year with the Annual Knights Awards Dinner on the campus of Queens College.
 
The evening celebrated all 16 sponsored teams and their achievements which included the following:
 
East Coast Conference Championship Tournament Appearances:
 
Fall Sports: Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Women's Volleyball, Women's Tennis 
Winter Sports: Men's Basketball
Spring Sports: Baseball, Men's Tennis, Softball
 
Three teams made the Conference Final with Men's Soccer and Men's Tennis winning their respective sports Championship with Men's Soccer winning their first ECC title in program history and Men's Tennis winning their sixth ECC title in seven years.
 
NCAA Tournament Appearance and Success:
Three teams in men's soccer, women's tennis, and men's tennis made the NCAA Tournament with all three recording a victory while both the tennis programs earned East Regional titles to advance to the NCAA Championship Finals to be held in Altamonte Springs, FL.
 
A total of 47 student-athletes earned All-ECC honors.

Men's Tennis: Four All-Conference
Softball: Four All-Conference
Baseball: Eight All-Conference

Men's Soccer:  D2CCA All-Region: 2 | All-American: 1
Women's Tennis: Co-Coach of the Year
Men's Basketball:  All-Met: 1
Women's Basketball: Rookie of the Year | All-Met: 1

Fall ITA East Regional Singles Champion
ECC Player of the Year
Five ITA Major Awards
Wilson ITA Coach of the Year
ITA Assistant Coach of the Year
ITA Senior Player of the Year
ITA Player to Watch
ITA Community Service Award
Softball: One D2CCA ALL-Region First Team
Baseball: One NCBWA All-Region First Team
 
Each respective team announced their final Award winners giving out
Outstanding Freshman/Rookie Award, Most Improved Award, Scholar-Athlete Award and Most Valuable Player.
 
Along with each team honoring their award winners, the department honored the most decorated male and female Student-Athletes of the Year in four different categories.

The final award of the evening, the Patrick Parker Award (a student-athlete who is "driven, goal-oriented, dedicated to their fellow student and sport, supportive, loyal, humble and selfless) was presented to Men's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Daniel Fuzailof.
