Swansea PRIDE at the Brangwyn Hall Join us on May 18th at the Brangwyn Hall as Swansea Council libraries proudly participate in Swansea PRIDE. Stop by our booth to celebrate diversity and inclusivity with us!

One Stop Shop at the Waterfront Museum Catch us at the Waterfront Museum on May 13th, where we'll be distributing copies of the World Book Night book as part of The Reading Agency's initiative. Don't miss this opportunity to get your hands on a great read!

Dementia Awareness Information Stand In honor of Dementia Awareness Month, the Dementia Hwb will be hosting an information stand at Central Library on Thursday, May 16th, from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. Stop by to learn more about dementia and the support available in our community.

Local History Month May is Local History Month, and we're excited to dive into the rich history of our community. Our Library and local studies teams will be hosting family history sessions in various community libraries throughout the month. Discover your roots and explore the history of Swansea with us!

Sketty Library Turns 100! Help us celebrate the centenary of Sketty Library, our oldest community library! With a rich history spanning 100 years, Sketty Library has grown from 450 books to a collection of 9,782. Visit us throughout May to explore our "Sketty Library 100" display and learn about the history of Sketty over the past century.

Local Studies Talks at Central Library Don't miss our fascinating local studies talks at Central Library:

  • Saturday 18 May, 2.00pm: Nigel A. Robins presents "Cilfái History and Landscape - The past three hundred years of landscape change on Swansea's Kilvey Hill."

  • Saturday 25 May, 2.00pm: Book launch event - "Eye of the Eagle: Luftwaffe Intelligence and the South Wales Ports 1939-1941" by Nigel A. Robins.
